Chester the cat, opened one eye to have a glance around himself to see where he was. He found that there was an old gentleman sitting in an armchair, rocking and reading an old newspaper. He was eating some bread and threw the tit-bits to Chester. Chester got hold of it and began chewing it with no other good meal in sight for some time. “Oh! Why did the old man not bring something good?” he thought.
As soon the old man went through the door, Chester quickly climbed up through the window and climbed down, his feet slipping and himself falling in a stationary cart. He thought he would try to get out of the cart, when the warmth of the blanket in the cart made him drowsy and he went off to sleep.
Chester didn’t realize that the cart had started moving and going front with full of hay stacked in it and him lying in it.
The cart went inroads towards a village. The cool air of the village made Chester wonder as to where he was.
As the cart stood beside a huge house, the cart-man started removing the hay from the cart. Chester was roughly shaken by the man. “Off my cart” yelled the
