Analyzing a few female leaders in the 15th-19th centuries in European History.






Between 1450 and 1800, many women gained power as rulers. Identify three such women rulers and discuss how issues of gender, such as marriage and reproduction, influenced their ability to obtain and exercise power.





We will analyze the reign of:

-Elizabeth I

-Maria Theresa

-Catherine the Great

-Marie Antoinette

Elizabeth I

Elizabeth I of England:

* Ruled from 1558-1603

* Known as the "Virgin Queen"
