Chapter 1

Week-End Review

It all began one hot summer Monday morning in the West Indies, on a little island, Audrey woke up, did her exercise, showered,, styled her hair, applied makeup to her face and walked downstairs to prepare breakfast for herself and family, usually, herself and her mother, She was right on time, on schedule, for a new day as every minute mattered, they sat and scanned through the morning paper and chatted briefly over breakfast which was consistently buttered toast, orange juice, soft boil eggs and tea with milk and sugar…as she cleared the table the phone rang, her relief receptionist had called to say she would not be at work that day, because of the party they hosted the night before, she was feeling ill, repeating several times that the food from the Chinese caterers were having a bad effect on her and she had already left a message for the administration office at the company, the morning continued as Audrey, got dressed for work and wore her favorite color uniform, black pleated skirt and white shirt with her sheer black stockings and black pumps., she bid her mother goodbye…”see you later mom’ and continued out the door; as she was walking down the street to catch her bus as schedule, her neighbor stopped his car right by her side, and said “good morning lovely lady, can I be of assistance to you this morning, he explained where he was heading and asked if he could give her a ride to work, Audrey declined and politely said thanks she was right on time for the bus, which will keep her on schedule; as she approach the bus depot, she encountered a total stranger, on a passing bus, as she entered the intersection, he smile menacingly and her and looked backed and just kept on smiling , who kept smiling at her, she looked at him intently, as if to memorized his face, she had not ever seen him in the neighborhood before or on the bus, the she waited for the bus to return, a dog passed by wagging his tail, immediately her bus pulled up at the bus stop and the passengers embarked, Audrey met two other co-workers who lived in the neighborhood, they weren’t friends, but they would greet each other as neighbors and co-workers do, she went and selected her seat two rows down from was a man eating his bagel and drinking his French vanilla coffee, there was a Dunkin Donuts across the street from the bus stop…the coffee smelled so good, it made her mouth watered, Audrey, got up and moved two rows closer, to her amazement there was the stranger on the bus who smiled at her was sitting in the front row….unaware, of his presence, the stranger turned, said, Good Morning, and Audrey nodded, the bus ride was an hour or so to work, so she kept herself alerted and was polite to anyone who addressed her, why not? So much for not speaking to strangers, She had to travel on the bus every morning, who knows what can or will happen, the bus was her only consistent commute to work other than car service, Audrey, travelled in silence, ignoring anything, and everything, and mostly the stranger, looking out the window, glancing at the people who would acknowledge her, she was an attractive young woman and made sure she kept herself healthy, and beautiful, she had a boyfriend who lived, a mile of two away from her neighborhood, he did not come to see her last week-end, and she was concerned that he was being too friendly with Candice, her co-worker, who is not really her friend, but they spoke to each other often and would ride the bus together most mornings, hangover after a party and not hearing from her beau, had her mind in a boggle. However, she was feeling as bright and as chirpy as ever, the morning the sun began to rise in the suburbs and she was smiling back at the stranger.

She got to work on time, she preparing herself at the front desk, for her busy day, the fist client walked down the hall way towards her, good morning, is Mr. Wilson in yet, Audrey, called the Attorney’s secretary as she told the client to have a seat and that someone will be with him shortly; another client walked up to her desk, “mmmm” she said a busy morning, she looked up and it was the smiling stranger, who smiled at her on the bus, he also asked for the same Attorney, Mr. Wilson, and said. It’s a small world after all, we do not ever know who we’ll meet and where, Audrey, looked and smiled, and waved him to a seat, the man introduce himself as Alandro Holmes and said he was Mr. .Wilson’s nephew, he was at the office to begin a new job, as an intern, he is a lawyer or law student, or studying law, he explained he had just finished law school or something to that effect and was about to take the Bar, and was offered a job at the Wilson, Tennessee and Shakespeare law firm, this was his associate interview to meet the partners and administration. He felt intently welcome, and please meeting the reception unaware of knowing anyone else. Both men were in the office of an interview, Joseph Jung was an experienced Patent Lawyer and was conducting his second or third interview. Both men were escorted into the office by one of the partners secretary, Alandro turned and said, ‘”we should do lunch, he knew of a nice restaurant where they could dine, and quickly said, if you are not too busy, Audrey smiled, and continued to answer the phones; he Joseph, left the office within minutes of speaking with Mr. Wilson, and waved to Audrey when he was leaving, Joseph, said, I see you next Monday Miss. Morse.. Okay see you, Audrey said…
