I watched as we all died and usually the vision stays the same. But ever since the birth of Alec and Caleb, things have been changing. For one thing, they don't die. The will walk amongst the world with us and without us. And another thing, they have changed our death. The apocalypse was supposed to be the end for all but it seems like instead, we will be consumed into something darker and more hell-bound. I know my job was to see the end but this wasn't the end that awaited us. I am Demetria, prophetess of death and destruction and the end is near.
"Demi?" Tristan asked waving and hand in front of my face.
I caught his wrist and held it out of my view. A pair of twins emerged from a large black car. One was dressed in all black his hair falling into his green eyes. He wore a black v-neck short sleeve shirt. His brother wore an identical shitty but in grey. His haie was brushed back his eyes looked cold and uncaring. They walked in our direction and I tried to keep my distance. I turned heading for the school entrance, pulling Tristan along with me. We walked to my locker and I pretended like I wasnt acting weird.Tristan glared at me as I grabbed my books from my locker.
"What?" I asked, adjusting my bag.
"Don't play stupid with me," he said, folding his arms over his chest.
"Don't know what your talking about. I'm going to be late,"
I said slamming shut my locker door and heading to my first period class. I love Tristan. He is my best friend but there are some things he wouldn't understand. I got to my first period class five minutes early. I had English first period so I didn't mind consideding its my favorite subject. That was until one of the twins entered the room. It was the one dressed in all black. Is this Edwards English?" he asked me.
"Yeah, but the class doesn't start for another four minutes though," I said, digging for my copy of Othello.
"ok. Thanks. Im new here. Im Alec," he said, walking toward me.
"I'm Demetria but my friends call me Demi," I said. He smiled down at me.
"Pretty name," he said.
"Thanks," I said, pushing my hair from my face.
"Demi, you didnt say you knew the new kids," a voice that annoyed me said from the front of the classroom. I sighed and bit down on my temper.
"I thouht we agreed to never exchange words again twitney," I said as the blonde girl sat on my desk and tried blocking my view of Alec. He rolled his eyes and walked around her. He sat at the desk next to me and winked my way.
"Ms. Winters, I would appreciate it if you would remove your ass from Ms. Belldaire's desk and find your seat," Mr. Edwards said as he entered the room. The class began to enter when the bell rung. They spoke amongst themselves while the teacher wrote the lesson on the board.
"Is he strict?" Alec asked me. I shook my head.
"Edwards is the best teacher here," I said. Alec nodded and opened a thick large book that I didnt see him take out. He flipped through the pages and my breath caught at the images. They were visions that I have had. Some with blood. Some with war. And the rest was just me. I gasped in shock.
"Are you alright Ms. Belldaire"Are you alright Ms. Belldaire?" Mr. Edwards asked me, making me rip my eyes away from the book.
"Uh, im fine. Just a little out of it today," I said. I heard twitney whisper to her clones and I threw a glare in her direction. She met my glare with a smirk and her middle finger.
"Ms. Winters, act your own age," Edwards saidHe pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose and turned to look at me. "Feel free to take a walk. Unlike some, I knos you did the assigned homework,"
he said directing an accusing look at twitney who shrunk low in her seat. I decided to leave. I gathered my stuff and made my way out the room. I could feel Alec'a eyes on me as I walked out. Many thoughts echoed through my head as I wandered the halls of the school. The pictures had looked hand drawn and they didn't look recent. How could he know about me? My shoulder hit something hard and I looked up to see the other twin glaring at me.
"Will you watch where-?" He asked letting the question hang in the air between us. His face lit up in recognition. I pretend not to notice.
"I'm sorry. I guess I was rushing," I said, rubbing my shoulder.
"No. It was my fault. I wasnt paying at attention,"he said. I gave him and apologetic smile and pivoted around him. There is sinethe about the twins I dont know. I need to find out what. It was strange for them to know me to the point of recognition.
