taming a shrew

There once were two sisters, one was a shrew who hated men and everything that went with them. The other one however was a women who adored men and was planning to get married to a young suitor. However since the shrew was the eldest daughter the other could not marry unless the shrew was married first. And so the woman who loved men sent an announcement to the entire kingdom and proclaimed to all the young suiters to see if they could fancy the shrew's eye and get her married off. However that shrew was stubborn and growled and spat still at the ways of the men. But one day a man was given a challenge to " tame" the shrew, and so stubborn when faced with a challenge he set out to his challenge and asked the shrew's father if he would give him his daughters hand. The father agreed and they were married privately with much contempt and fussing from the shrew. So the man dragged the shrew deep through the forest and set out to tame her. whenever she growled or hissed in contempt, he simply told her she would have no supper until she behaved properly. So this continued for some time as he used different methods to tame her hatred of men. before long she was an obedient wife and learmed to love the man with his stubborn will and their marriage was strong.

Meanwhile back where the other sister lived their was rejoicing and so the sister was married to her young and charming suiter and after several years had passed the two sisters lived across from each other. Now the second sister' s husband still doubted the shrew's loyalty to the man who " tamed " her, and so one night he was talking to the shrew's husband and he said, " let us call to our wives and see if they are loyal and true to us." Even as he doubted the shrew would come out. So first young suitor called to his wife but she Did not come out, and so he tryed again and still she didn't come. Even as he called her without success and ever increasing anoyance, the shrew's husband called to his wife, the shrew whom he had tamed as a loyal companion. He only called once and she rushed out saying, " yes dear husband do you need something?" And so you see the couple lived happily together as loyal companions. Having learned a lesson, the poor shrew found happiness in something she never really cared for or wanted.
