‘‘Mom! Dad! I’m leaving for school!” I shouted cheerfully. I am Ana Tanaka, I am fifteen years old young and lively. I have a wavy blonde hair with bright blue eyes and I think I am fit enough to have an hourglass figure. Today is my first day of high school and I am very excited.
“Do you want me to bring you to school, Ana?” asked Ikuto Tanaka, my father.
“Good luck for your first day Ana-chan! I hope it all goes well.” said Riko-san while smiling kindly at me.
In this family of ours, Riko-san is my beautiful loving and caring mother and Ikuto-san is my childish but adorable and handsome father and of course not to forget my cutest and the most adorable out of all the Tanaka is my brother! Jun Tanaka, who I think inherited father’s genes, is still a fifth year in middle school. I studied in his school before but now that I have graduated, I no longer study there. He is also a part of the Student Council in his school. His school is affiliated with my school, so once he graduates he will go to my school.
“No thank you father. I am walking with Megumi-chan today and thank you Riko-san! I’ll make this year memorable! I am going now, bye everyone!” I said while waving at them.
I have to run if not I am gonna be late and Megumi-chan might scold me again for my tardiness, I thought. Megumi Tanari is my bestest friend ever, she has been with me ever since we were young. She has been with me through my tough times, lending her ears and shoulder. Not once did she complain but cheered and encouraged me. I definitely love her as my sister. I slowed down when I saw her.
“Ah, Ana-chan! I missed you! You’re not late today, that’s good!” she said, running towards me to give me a hug.
“It’s been only a day since we last met and now you missed me? How would you survive if I were to be gone for a long time? But I missed you too!” I said while panting trying to catch my breath and hugging her back.
“Come on, let’s start walking if not we will be late for school” she said. “Oh please, it’s so early I doubt anyone is there yet. You’re really excited, huh” I said.
“Of course I am excited Ana-chan! We are finally high school students and our school is one of the best schools in the country, who wouldn’t be excited for that? But for us it is definitely a must to go there” she said.
“Yeah, I know. If it wouldn’t be for my name and my situation I could just go to any public or private school around here.” I said. Our school is where all rich heiress and heirs around my age go to; it is basically a haven of rich people. Megumi-chan’s family business is pretty well known and stable whereby mine is on the verge of bankruptcy. This does not bother me though because I am contented with what I have right now. To help my family even though by a little bit, I do part-time jobs.
“Our school is pretty special though, all the three Noble Houses heirs are going to the same school as us! Isn’t this great? I heard they are handsome, you won’t abandon me for them once you see them right, Ana?” said Megumi, trying to act like she is pouting.
I chuckled and said, “Silly, I will never abandon you Megumi no matter what happens. Anyway I am not interested in them.” The Four Noble houses are all world-wide renowned companies. They are the richest in this country and hence they are powerful. I heard that all the heads of the households, long before were best friends since school, and they were all chosen to be in the Noble Houses. I don’t know whether it’s a legend or tradition that is past down but all the heirs of the houses are close friends with one another as well.
“Of course you won’t. But why aren’t you interested in them? Almost 90% of the girls who came in this school is because of them, sadly they can’t look at them without them noticing if not their points might be deducted.” said Megumi.
Points, I thought. In our school we have this Ranking System also called as R-system. In this R-system people are divided base on their points and definitely on how rich they are and so I guarantee I will probably be one of the last few. Education and grades takes up an important role as well. Like kindergarten when you do something good you will be rewarded but if you do something against the rules, points will be deducted. It is the same as my school, there are three ranks that divides us; Bronze, Silver and Gold. Only one person is able to be Gold in the entire student body, and that is only for Student Council President or the richest or most powerful in the school.
Megumi and I kept on talking and soon we reached the school. It was not hard to notice; even from afar you could see the gates were shining. As we went nearer, I saw the gates were made of silver. And the school was so big that it looked more like a castle more than a school though the difference is the school was painted with premium colours. Beside me, Megumi-chan was jumping up and down, out of excitement I bet.
Before Megumi and I go inside the school, we checked our appointed classes and I am so happy that we are in the same class. We were posted in Class A which I think is the best class but I noticed there was a class that only consists of 4 people and the class’ name is Class AA.
I turned to Megumi to ask her but she answered me as if she had read my mind. “The double-A class huh, I think it is the best of the best of classes and it is only for Student council members but I didn’t know there were only four of them. I bet the other three are the heirs of the Noble Houses. Don’t worry though Ana you’re smart, it’s just that they are some sort of a special case?” she said.
After she finished talking, a shining black limousine stopped in front of the school’s gate. Then a guy with a suit opened the door probably a butler, and then I saw three handsome guys stepped out of the car. They were really handsome but somehow they looked really familiar. I saw the other students bow down as the handsome guys walked towards the school and I followed in pursuit.
I couldn’t help but hear their conversation.
“New students? They sure learn fast, knowing about this rule as well.” said the guy mockingly with the green hair.
“Don’t forget Daichi, we are first-years as well” said another guy, I couldn’t see who it was and I really want to look who it was so I looked up. It was a guy with blonde hair with bright blue eyes.
“Come on, if you guys don’t move any faster, I’ll leave you behind.” said another guy sounding annoyed with jet-black hair that matched his black eyes.
They are probably the popular three heirs of the Four Noble Houses, I have to admit they all look handsome and with their almost perfect features, they couldn’t get any better. Suddenly they stopped in where I was standing and turned to look at me. The blonde guy whispered something to the other that made them look at me for a long time. At the same time, I realised I was not bowing anymore. Maybe that is why they are looking at me but the look in their eyes made me doubt, their eyes showed mixed emotions; happiness, sadness, relief, worried and pain. I don’t know why but I feel like I have met them before but as much as I tried to recall, I couldn’t remember anything. Soon they stopped looking at me and started walking again.
Once they entered the school, everyone stopped bowing at once and people were whispering and murmuring while looking at me. I bet rumours will spread for sure. For a moment, I couldn’t move then after a while I looked at Megumi, she will probably bombard me with many questions later so I should start bracing myself.
As we were walking towards our class, Megumi so-called interrogation started, “How? When? Why?” she said while looking at me with the look of how-did-you-do-it look.
“What How? When? And Why?” I replied.
“Why were they looking at you? Do you know who they are? They are the student council, the three heirs of the Noble Houses. Why would they stop and look at you? Have you guys met before?” she said. Luckily I listened very carefully if not I wouldn’t know what she is talking about and because she was talking so fast as if there was no time to waste.
“I don’t know why they stopped and looked at me but I have never, hear me never met them before.” I said seriously and it looked like it convinced her.
“But you do know right, what happened a while ago will cause rumours. Some might think you are special or something.” She said.
“Yah, I know. School have not even started and my hope for a peaceful high school life is gone.” I said, sighing.
As we enter our classroom, we sat down at our sits. Our Sensei, who is Kuchida Kurosaki, told us that we will not be studying today and told us that we will be doing class bonding games. The bonding games were fun but pretty tiring, and the class somehow got closer. The games ended when it was lunch. Soon everyone was heading towards the cafeteria; I heard it was very grand. In this school, I suggest you have a map with you if not you will definitely get lost. In this big place, who wouldn’t get lost?
While Megumi and I were walking towards the school cafeteria, Megumi was talking very fast talking about every single thing she found entertaining and exciting. I agreed with her when she told me this school is very grand, no one could say this school is simple at all. The corridors are somehow sparkly and shiny, the floor is made out of marble that showed your reflection, the door handles and everything metallic is made out of silver and gold. Looking at this school it must have been a fortune to build all this.
“Ana, are you listening to me, Ana? Well I can’t blame you, I talk too fast. If you weren’t then I was talking about Waltz Haagen. You know about this don’t you? They say it’s some sort of a greenhouse. It’s very nice and beautiful, I heard.” said Megumi.
“Waltz Haagen? Might have heard of it, it’s like you said it’s some sort of a greenhouse, no? Anyway normal students can’t enter Waltz Haagen, no matter how hard you beg our teachers but I also, want to see Waltz Haagen.” I said.
“Yeah, only the Student Council or the Four Noble Houses are allowed to enter it. No, it’s more like Waltz Haagen is made for them.” she said.
“Waltz Haagen sounds familiar to me. Sigh, why does the Student Council and the Four Noble Houses are always treated specially? Just because they are rich and all, shouldn’t things be more balanced?” I said.
“This is the high society; do you think life is easy and fair? If not your family should have been rich already anyway we couldn’t do anything about It.” She said, then looked at me for a long time then continued, “Unless you’re some high royalty princess or the fiancée of the Four Noble Houses or something. Or came from a very powerful family other than that, there is not much we could do.”
When we entered the cafeteria, it was so .. Grandly? The cafeteria was sparkling, and the food was made by International professional chefs. I looked at Megumi on how she would react with this, and as I predicted her mouth was hanging wide open.
We ordered our lunch and it was delicious. After we finished eating, we strolled back to class our stomach full with delicious food that has been digested already haha.
“The food was simply superb! I can’t wait to eat here again tomorrow.” she said while looking at her things if she had left anything behind. “Oh no! My bracelet that mother gave me, I think I left it behind and we only have 10 minutes before class!” she said, looking panic-stricken.
“Relax Megumi, I’ll go back and find it for you, you couldn’t run with your stomach full,no? Don’t worry I can run back since I didn’t eat as much as you. You go to class first and if I were to be late, help me explain to the Kichida Sensei. I’ll find it, I promised.” I said.
“Thanks, Ana-chan. I owe you a lot” she said, with a weak smile.
I turned and ran back to the cafeteria, this is going to be tough, I thought. The cafeteria was sparkling and glittering, how could I find something as sparkly easily if the cafeteria is sparkly as well? Then I saw it under the table. It was definitely Megumi’s since it has a big M on the middle, I picked it up and ran back to the same route. But as I ran, I think I was going the wrong way. Sigh, I’m lost. Why did I have to forget to take the map from Megumi?
After minutes of looking, I gave up and just entered this big gate that was slightly open that was only visible when you are near it. I entered and I was speechless, it is filled with plants, more like a beautiful forest. This is probably Waltz Haagen, I thought. I should not be here, but before I turned to face the big gate, I heard a small clicking noise and turned to see where it came from. And I saw the gate was lock! I ran to the gate and tried to open it but to no avail it wouldn’t. I have no choice but to wait for someone to open it but I couldn’t sit there all day, might as well go around, I thought.
As I was walking, I stumbled upon a stone and fell down. It was quite a big stone okay! Then I heard voices, great someone was here to let me out. I looked around and heard the voices came from the other side of the bush; I peeked around the bush and saw the three heirs or the student council. They were all sitting under a tree, the one that has a black hair was reading, the one with green hair was lying down and was looking at the sky while the blonde haired guy leaned against the tree and is plucking up grass.
“Ana” I heard the blonde-haired guy. My name? No it can’t be me.
“She’s really here huh? What should we do? Should we talk to her? What do you think Ryouta?” the green-haired guy said, sitting up and faced the guy with the black hair.
“We will not do anything. We will leave her alone; we talking to her might cause trouble later on. What if she finds out? What can we do once the problem is there?” said Ryouta.
“But it has been years since we talked to her! Now that we can see her, we can’t talk to her. They limit us too much. What do you think Koutaru?” said Daichi.
“He’s right, Daichi. Even though it pains me not to talk to her, she must know nothing. We swore we would protect her from anything that would hurt her even if it’s the truth.” said Koutaru.
I stood there thinking whether I should ask them to help me go out or not. I decided not to but then I fell again and this time out of the bush. Haish my life couldn’t get any better. They all look at me wide-eyed. Ugh I hate awkward silence.
“Hi” I said weakly.
“You’re the girl from this morning, Ms?” said Koutaru-sama
“Ms Ana Tanaka.” I spluttered.
“Ms Tanaka what are you doing here? Do you know that the Waltz Haagen is strictly forbidden for normal students except for the Student Council? I assume you have read the rulebook.” said Koutaru-sama.
“Or do you just like breaking rules?” said Daichi-sama,chuckling
“I did .. I read the rules. I went inside the Waltz Haagen because I find this greenhouse really familiar like I had been here before but before I could return outside someone locked me inside.” I said.
Ryouta-sama put his book down, closed his eyes and looked at me.
“Very well. If you come back here again, we will deduct points from you. We will be lenient to you for now. Daichi, show her the way outside.” said Ryouta-sama.
Daichi-sama helped me up and started walking; he beckoned me to follow him. There was an awkward silence between us, I wanted to ask him a question but I decided not to but then. “Has Ryouta-sama always been grumpy? Or .. I’m sorry you don’t need to answer if you don’t want to.” I said.
“Hmm yes, he has always been like that since young. Here we are.” He said. He opened the gate; it was a different gate but oh wells. “Now, I suggest you don’t come here again. No matter what the circumstances are. I hope you have a good day” he said, smiling gently to me.
“You too” I said weakly.
How could I have a good day now that I encountered them? Soon I was looking around for a clock and saw that I was 2 hours late for class, another period was left and it will be the end of the school day.
I apologized relentlessly to Kichida Sensei for being late for class. “Don’t worry Ana, many people get lost in this school and it’s your first day. You’re bound to get lost somehow.” he said, while smiling at me. Since I was late for class, there was not much I could do and there was only another half an hour before school ends. Within the thirty minutes, Kichida Sensei appointed me and another boy to be the class chairman.
I didn’t bother to disagree since it might be a way to pay him back for being late.
After school, I told Megumi about everything, from when I ran back to the cafeteria to being in class. “OH-MY-GOSH! You met them again? And this time you talked to them? You’re so lucky!” she shouted.
“Sshh! don’t shout and I’m not lucky, and did you hear what I told you awhile ago? They were talking about a girl and I heard her name was Ana. Something about not wanting her to know anything about the truth. I know I’ll be thick for saying I think it is me but I just feel something’s wrong.” I said.
“Silly, why would they talk about you? There are many Ana’s in this world, might not be you. And they have their own reasons for keeping a secret from the girl. There are a lot of truths that you don’t wanna know.” she said seriously.
“Megumi, even though it hurts the person I think they should tell the person the truth. She’ll definitely know about it sooner or later and that would hurt her even more.” I said.
“Okay I understand you but think what if you were in both situations? Did you ever think that both ways of telling the truth and lying to her will cause problems? What if the lying will be better? Haish anyway let’s stop talking about this. It’s not our problem, high authority people have more problems than us and they could fix it in a double. They don’t need people to worry about them.” she said and her voice told me that I
shouldn’t talk more about this.
We said our goodbyes when we have to go different ways. What Megumi-chan said is true; there are tons of girls named Ana. There is no reason for them to talk about me, and I haven’t met them before. I should just put this out of my mind. Tonight after dinner, Megumi-chan called me that she can’t walk with me to school tomorrow. She was really sorry, since she kept apologizing but I reassured her it was okay.
The next day, I was ready for school. I don’t know why but I am not as excited as yesterday towards school. I shouldn’t make my encounter with them bring me down and they did not do anything to bring me down anyway. But their presence leaves me restless.
I greeted my family and left the house to school. As much as I want to put everything about the heirs out of my mind, I could not. Does the world like torturing me? As I was thinking, I didn’t know what was ahead of me and hit a pole. That does it, this world completely hates me.
A shining black car stopped beside me, I looked and it was the car of the three heirs! I hope they did not see me hit the pole.
“Ms Tanaka, why don’t you join us? We are heading towards the school as well?” said Ryouta- sama.
“Um .. thank you but I think I should walk .. “ I said weakly.
“Come on, if you walk and keep daydreaming you will keep hitting poles.” He said chuckling not only him but I heard Daichi-sama as well.
I blushed out of embarrassment and said, “Oh sure, thank you very much.”
The ride towards school was filled with silence, the one thing I hated most is awkward silence because it makes me uncomfortable and I hate being uncomfortable. Now that I think about it, later when I go out of the car people will see me. Oh no this will add fuel to the fire, definitely. Second day of school and it is getting worse day by day.
We reached the school and I climbed out of the car immediately, perplexed people might see me. The other three climbed out gracefully, they’re more graceful than I am. How disappointing for me. I bowed to them and said my thanks and hurried to look for Megumi though she can’t be found.
When the class started, Megumi then came in the class. “Where have you been? I have been looking for you.” I said.
“Sorry had to look for someone to talk about something.” she said. “Who did you want to meet? It’s only the second day of school but sure.” I said.
“It was just some people. Not much, they’re from a different class though. It was nothing important.” she said, not meeting my eye.
Before lunch, an announcement was made for me to go to the Student Council room around lunch. At lunch Megumi and I ate, after we ate Megumi had to see someone again and left me.
I took my own time to go to the Student Council room, when I was in front of the door of the room. I heard people talking; I thought it would be rude to just barge in so I waited. Though I could hear their conversation clearly, I tried my best not to listen but someone’s voice captured my attention. It was Megumi’s voice and it was the one who made me stop moving and made my heart thumped.
“I thought you guys were avoiding her? I heard this morning you asked her for a ride? I thought you guys want no connection from her whatsoever? Can’t you guys act better? You’re becoming very obvious.” said Megumi, sounding annoyed.
“Exactly, ask Koutaru about this.” said Daichi-sama.
“I don’t know what made Me.” said Koutaru-sama.
“That’s no reason to become closers to her. Control yourselves, she told me about you guys already and having doubts and all.” Megumi said.
“What did she say?” said Daichi-sama sounding interested.
“She said you guys looked really familiar, like she have met you guys before but of course she can’t remember no matter how hard she try. You guys should be thankful I cleared her doubts using her not knowing anything as an advantage from your acts. If you guys don’t control yourselves, we will all be in trouble.” She said.
They were all talking about me, Megumi as well. She knows something about me that I don’t. They all know. Am I the only one who doesn’t? What secret are they keeping from me?
“Yes, thank you bu-“ said Daichi-sama without finishing. Without me knowing I opened the door, and looked at them.
Megumi gasped, Koutaru-sama looked at me, Daichi-sama looked away and Ryouta-sama didn’t move at all.
“What .. what .. are you guys talking about? It’s definitely about me, don’t deny it anymore! What secret are you guys hiding from me? Even you Megumi-chan? You’re my bestfriend! Why lie .. EVERYONE HERE TELL ME THE TRUTH!” I shouted with all my might.
“What if we don’t want to tell you the truth?” said Ryouta-sama
“Ryouta! Don’t push it any further.” said Daichi-sama.
“You have no right to not tell me, now tell me.” I said angrily. He sighed.
“To cut the long story short, you’re not your father and mother’s real daughter.” He said.
“What are you talking about? They are my parents! What .. what .. “ I whispered.
“Of course in your heart he’s your real father but technically, he isn’t your biological father nor does your mother. You were adopted. If you want to know more know about the truth from your parents, why not ask them?” said Ryouta-sama.
I glared at all of them, turned and ran. Megumi-chan shouted, “Ana-chan! Wait! Pls!”. “Weren’t you the one who told us not to tell her the truth? Even if did have to, you could at least tell it to her nicely!” I heard Daichi-sama shouted at Ryouta-sama.
I ran the entire way straight home; I need to know the truth. My loving parents, lie at me .. it’s preposterous. I don’t know why but I feel really angry, this isn’t supposed to bother me but it bothers me a lot.
When I reached home, I banged the door open. “Ana-chan! What happened?” asked Riko-san, looking very worried. “Ana-chan, are you okay?” said Ikuto-san looking very worried as well. Looking at their faces made start to cry, my parents are not my real parents. It can’t be.
Once I calmed down, they asked again, “Ana-chan, what happened? Did anything happen?”.
I look at them, “Yes something happened, Riko-san and Ikuto-san are you guys hiding something from me? Are you my real parents?” I said, I was shocked at myself that I used a cold tone towards them yet I couldn’t be bothered by it now.
Ikuto-san was wide-eyed, and Riko-san gasped. “Ana-chan, what are you talking about? We are your real parents.” Said Ikuto-san, smiling at me. It pained me when I see him smile. “Don’t lie! I know the truth already! Why didn’t you tell me ..” I shouted.
“How did you know?” asked Ikuto-san quietly.
“I heard Megumi-chan and the three heirs of the Noble Houses. How did they know? Why do they know and I don’t?” I asked my voice going softer.
“They will definitely be the first to know about your secret Ana-chan. It is true that we aren’t your real parents but we treat you like our real daughter and it was definitely from the bottom of our heart. Maybe it’s time you know the truth.” said Ikuto-san.
“Where to start, oh yes your real family is the Yamanaka Household. Yes, one of the Four Noble Houses. You should have notice why there were only three of the heirs came to the school, where was the other one? The other one was there but people doesn’t know her yet. When you were young, Daichi, Koutaru and Ryouta-sama were your best friends, you guys were really close. They were always with you from night till day; there was no time when I didn’t see you four together. Your grandfather and your father and I were close business partners before and still now. One day something terrible happened, you were kidnapped. It happened while you guys were playing in the Waltz Haagen, Ryouta-sama was the one who was supposed to be kidnapped but you saved him and were kidnapped yourself. As the Four Noble Houses were the most powerful and richest families, they are also the people who are the most hunted by other people. The three heirs fought with some but seeing that they were too late and you were gone they ran back and told us what happened and of course everyone went to look for you. We found the kidnapper quick and saved you, you and the kidnappers were in a shack. The shack was very old and it looked like it would fall anytime soon, when Ryouta-sama heard you were safe he ran to you to hug you but before he did another terrible thing happened. Like I said the shack looked like it would fall any time and soon and it did, you saw that the roof was going to fall and hit Ryouta-sama and you pushed him out of the way getting yourself hurt. Everybody saw what happened and helped you immediately, some was so shock that they couldn’t move but once we saved you, you were unconscious. Many people thought you were dead, but you were not. We brought you to the hospital as soon as possible. The doctors told us that you were fine, all our worries was gone now. But when we visited you, you couldn’t remember who any of us were not even your three bestest friends. Your family loved you very much, and decided even though it pained them to make me adopt you to keep you out in trouble. They told everyone the truth but told them to keep it from you and never to come near you ever again even the three heirs. Anyone who tell you the truth will be severely punished and many was. Everything happened when you were in 5th grade. Megumi-chan knows about it since her parents might have told her and we told her about you as well knowing that she will stay by your side and never abandon you.” He said, “It is said that you are to go back to the Household if you wish when you turn 16 and by that time you will inherit the household already.”
“I am from the Yamanaka Household? The three heirs were my best friends? This must be a dream. And I’m going to inherit the Yamanaka Household? Heh, heh, you must be kidding me. ” I said
“We are sorry that we kept it from you Ana, but it was for your own good.” said Riko-san softly.
“I understand. It’s my choice if I want to go back to the Household, yes? Then let’s just keep it like normal, act as if nothing happened as if I’m not part of that family.” I said, standing up heading towards my room. “I’m tired, I’m going to my room.” I said.
I jump to my bed and looked at the ceiling thinking what else could happen to me?
The next day, Riko-san didn’t wake me up. She probably doesn’t want to disturb me especially what just happened yesterday. She’s right, I don’t want to be disturbed now and I don’t feel like going to school today. Sigh, it has already been proven many times that this world hates me and now this. I have to say I actually don’t really care about this situation as much as I think Ikuto-san and Riko-san might have cared. Basically from the perspective of mine in this situation is just that Ikuto-san and Riko-san is not my real parents, I’m the heiress of the Yamanaka Household which is one of the Four Noble Houses and I’m hunted down badly that I have to adopted. Great, just great. Oh people would actually think I am lucky for being in the Yamanaka Household but I don’t think so. Now I know who my real family are, I don’t feel happy and I don’t know why but what I know is that I want to see them.
Megumi-chan should know by now why I didn’t go to school, Ikuto-san and Riko-san probably told her and she would probably go crazy right now but I couldn’t care for now. Now I just want to fix these problems I have. I showered and went down, Ikuto-san and Riko-san was there, they looked up to see me in the staircase and their faces were shows full evident that they are still worried about me. Sigh, let’s do this thing.
“Good Morning or afternoon, I don’t know, what time is it already?” I said cheerfully.
“It’s nine-thirty, are you feeling better Ana-chan? Do you want to have your breakfast?” asked Riko-san.
“Really? Yes please.” I said, ignoring her other question. Climbing down the staircase and was heading towards the table. She put a bowl in front of me who was filled with my favourite cereal and Ikuto-san put the milk beside it and both of them sat beside me at the table.
“So ..” I said no awkward silences when I’m around.
“Ana-chan, we haven’t told them Yamanaka Household of your recent discovery even though we should. It’s your choice if you want them to know, and now we’re asking do you want them to know?” ask Ikuto-san seriously. Ugh. I tried my best to keep this topic out of our conversations today but since it just happened yesterday it’s bound to be in conversations.
“Yes, I want them to know and I want to see them. I want to know the whole story precisely. The fact that they just gave me away to you guys just because of that accident is .. unacceptable, I should say. They’re rich, they could increase the security and yet they just gave me away.” I said, choking at my cereal.
“No, Ana-chan you shouldn’t think that way! They love you and they always do. Please don’t think that way.” Said Riko-san, almost in tears.
“That is your decision. When do you want to see them?” asked Ikuto-san.
“Today. I want to see them today.” I said.
After I finish eating my cereal, I changed my clothes and was ready to go. Ikuto-san was driving us to the Yamanaka’s Mansion, I feel kinda excited. It took us two hours to reach the mansion, and damn how big and huge it is. It was even bigger than the school, the gates were painted gold and silver that shines, the Mansion was extravagant you could say. Once they saw Ikuto-san and Riko-san they opened the gates and let us in. Ikuto-san parked somewhere while we waited for him at the lobby. When he came back, we followed him. Then suddenly a guy greets Father.
“Ikuto-san! It has been a long time since you visited, what brings you here?” the guy ask jovially, the guy
looked like he was in his mid-50’s , he does not look frail but actually fit. The guy looked around us and once he saw me his smile faded.
The he asked, “What is she doing here?” and looked sternly at Ikuto-san.
“She knows, she found out yesterday. She’s here because she wanted to see you guys.” He said solemnly.
“Ikuto! We trusted you that she wouldn’t know! How did she found out?” he started shouting, clearly the room was so big that his voiced echoed.
“It’s not father’s fault, I found out about it in school. Father has nothing to do about me knowing.” I said looking at whom, I think is my grandfather straight in the eyes. His eyes! His eyes are exactly the same as mine; it’s as if I’m looking at my own eyes. He must have noticed since he and I went wide-eyed.
“You really are my granddaughter! I missed you so much! It’s been 14 years since I saw you and you were still a baby! Layla and your father would be delighted to see you!” he said cheerfully, “Come on in, Come on in.”
“Jana, call Layla and John!” he shouted to one of the maids, who stopped doing their work, bowed to my grandfather, stole a quick glance at me and quickly ran.
“You probably don’t my name, my name is Alexisch Yamanaka. And you are definitely our Ana!” he boomed, chuckling.
“Yes. You are my grandfather right? ” I said cheerfully, I was surprise how comfortable I was with my grandfather.
“That’s me, alright. You could call me grandfather if you want heh heh.” He said still chuckling.
“Heh heh. Grandfather, heh heh.” I said, chuckling too. Gosh, I didn’t know I had this side of me, probably got it from him. Oh wells. When we reached the room there were already a lot of people inside.
“Ikuto and Riko-san, how nice to see both you.” A guy with a velvet voice said, that caught my attention badly. I have always thought that my father, Ikuto-san, was the most handsome middle aged man I ever seen with his sweet voice and all but this guy just proved me wrong. I looked up to see who it was and BAM goes in my mind. He’s freaking handsome, his features are perfect he has jet-black hair and outstanding brown eyes. His figure, speechless. Then I notice a woman beside him, whom he who has always been holding her waist all this time, was gorgeous, pretty, beautiful anything you could say that is beautiful. She has a long wavy blonde hair with bright blue eyes, her figure looks like mine but more outstanding. She looks exactly like me, except yeah, she’s more good-looking. She looks so graceful that it was one of the differences we had.
“It’s nice to see you too, Layla-sama and Katsuro-sama.” Ikuto-san said, and he and Riko-san bowed to them. I looked around and they were all surprised, I didn’t bow.
“Ana. What is she doing here Ikuto?” her voice was shocked yet still beautiful.
“Ana knows already Layla.” said grandfather.
“But how did she know? Why does she know? She shouldn’t know!” her voice was quavering.
“Layla, calm down. Father, pls explain.” The guys said again, who I think is Katsuro-sama, my real biological father.
“I don’t know Katsuro neither does Ikuto and Riko. She somehow discovered about it. Let her tell us, and please everybody sit down and keep yourselves comfortable.” Grandfather said seriously, he’s not so happy anymore. I don’t like this.
“Ana?” Ikuto-san looked at me. I sighed.
“I discovered about this in school, I was standing outside the student council room since they called for me. I heard people talking inside so I waited outside, I didn’t eavesdrop but once I heard Megumi’s voice I started listening. She was complaining about the boys being obvious towards me since I was starting to doubt and suspect something’s up. Since I couldn’t take it anymore, I barged in the room and ask them what’s this all about, and they told me. I run all the way back home and Ikuto-san and Riko-san told me the truth.” I said, looking down.
“It can’t be helped, you must know by now anyway. Ana we’ve missed you. I’m your father and this is your mother, Layla.” Katsuro-sama said. After Katsuro-sama talked, Layla-sama ran and hugged me, without me thinking I hugged her back. Why do I feel so comfortable around them? Is it because they’re my real family? But I just met them today, or I thought so.
“Ana, now you know are you going to come back to the Yamanaka Household?” My mother asked.
I froze; I don’t know what to do. I know I want to be with my family, but which family? Suddenly the door opened, and there the three heirs was standing, Daichi, Ryouta and Koutaru.
“Daichi, Koutaru and Ryouta sit down.” Grandfather said. They sat down and looked at me.
“Ana said she discovered about this because of you guys.” Grandfather said in a serious voice.
“Yes, we are sorry. We'll take whatever punishment you will give us.” Ryouta said.
“Now that she knows, we couldn’t do anything. Ana, are you gonna stay with the Tanaka or are you coming back to the Yamanaka Household?” asked Grandfather.
I gulped, “I decided I want to come back to the Yamanaka Household, I want to get closer to my real family. Ikuto-san and Riko-san I’m sorry but please don’t feel like I’ve abandon you.” I said.
“Oh Ana! Darling we’re not judging you,” said Riko-sand and she hugged me as well.
“Then that’s it, Ana we’ll be staying here in the Yamanaka Household from here on out. Ikuto-sand and Riko-san we thank you for taking of Ana and raising her up well, We will be taking care of here from now on.” Grandfather said, "Now I put you three in charge of her, on whatever it is. Answering her questions is also your job, of course."
“But I’ll come back here tomorrow, I haven’t packed my things or I wouldn’t have thought so.” I said.
“No worries Ana, we’ll pack your things and we’ll come back tomorrow. Have a good time here” Ikuto-san said, I ran towards him and hugged him and I whispered, “I will miss you guys badly. Especially Jun, he doesn’t know anything about this. This might shock him.”
“We’ll take care of it.” He said, smiling gently at me.
I walked with Ikuto-san and Riko-san until we reached the lobby then we said our goodbyes to one another. I waved at them until they couldn’t be seen.
I wonder, is staying with them the right choice? I don't mind hardships but I feel insecure.
