Huntlow Makes a Big Change

Hunter was ahead of the rest of the group. He was happier now, and Willow loved it. She watched as her palisman played with his hair, and her face turned red hot.

Her fingers brushed her cheek, a small smile escaped her lips, and she heard a small and quiet squeal. Willow whipped around to see Luz and Amity staring at her repressing giggles.

She raised her eyebrows.

"What is so funny?" She whispered as her cheeks turned redder still.

Luz giggled and then started shaking Willow violently, and her glasses slid off her slowly.

"You like Hunter, don't you!" She whisper-shouted. Willow put her hands over Luz's mouth and looked at Hunter. He was still playing with the palisman. She sighed and let go of Luz's mouth and fixed her glasses.

"No, I don't. He is my friend." Willow whispered back.

Amity rolled her eyes.

"Yet you blush every time you look at him. The whole summer you two were inseparable." She said. Willow looked at them. Yes, she did like Hunter, but how would she ever tell him? She wanted to tell him. To ask him out. Before they ever reached the Collector. How would it end? What if it didn't end well and she never had the guts to ask him?

She crossed her arms and started walking again. Hunter was getting ambushed by the palisman and they knocked him over, he was laughing and yelling for help. Willow rushed over and shoed them away, pulling him to his feet.

He looked her in the eyes and smiled. She was so lost for words. Even though his eye color had changed after the possession, his eyes were just as beautiful as before.......still something to get lost in. His hand was still in hers and she felt it. His hand was soft and a little cold. But he was always a little cold. It must have been because he was a grim walker- but she didn't care what he was. He was just as real as the rest of them. If not, somehow more real.

She blushed and let go of his hand, walking back towards her friends. They all seemed to be holding back fits of giggles. Even Gus and Luz's mom seemed to have caught on.

"So, when are you gonna tell him?" Gus asked as he poked her shoulder. Willow put her face in her palms and sighed.

"I don't know- what if he does not feel the same way as I do?" Willow breathed. She twisted her braid and bit her lip.

Luz was practically jumping with excitement.

"Lets do something romantic! We have a little time-" Luz said. Everyone seemed to agree with this idea. Except for Willow. What if this went terribly wrong?

Before Willow could even say her many, MANY doubts, Luz started giving everyone commands.

"Me and Amity will take care of the whole scenery bit. Gus, you keep Hunter busy, and mom, can you help Willow get ready?" Luz whispered.

Everyone took off and Camila pulled Willow by the hand. She was nervous. So nervous roots were growing where she walked.

"I-I am not so sure about this. Hunter might not even feel the same way I do! And anyway we need to stop Belos and The Collector!" Willow said.

Camila sat Willow down on a stump and started undoing her braids.

"I have seen a lot of things since meeting all of you. A lot of things." Camilia said, her voice trailing off before continuing.

"And one thing I have seen is that you two like each other. A lot. You help him and listen to him, and he makes you smile even when you seem so sad. I see the little blushes and awkward moments. That is love, sweetie." She said, brushing through Willows hair.

Willow fiddled with her thumbs. She was right. She just had to ask. Camila added a flower to her hair and looked her in the eyes.

"You have got this Willow." She said. Willow smiled and nodded.

Amity came running up and gasped.

"W-willow! You look amazing! That's good that you're done because we are too! Come check it out!"

Willow followed Amity and gasped. Luz had made light bubbles all over a grassy field, and the stars were out shining and making the moment perfect. She made a circle with her finger and flower-filled vines grew over the trees.

She sighed and stood up straight.

"I am ready." She said. Luz nodded and ran off, and the others hid, she seemed a little uneasy about this. She knew they would be watching. She sank to her knees, grew a rose, and started fiddling with it, listening closely for footsteps.

"Yeah I am not sure what she wanted you for, but she is that way. I need to do this thing with Gus..." Luz's voice said in the distance. Willow held her breath. This was it.

She heard a soft gasp behind her. He was here.

He fell to his knees softly by her side. She looked up to see him blushing and staring at the rose.

"Luz said you wanted me?" He asked.

"Y-yes." Willow stammered. She took a deep breath. Then she poured her heart out.

"This summer has been the best I have ever had. But it was also the hardest. Being away from the isles and my dads-" Willow closed her eyes and sighed. "You made that more bearable. Hunter, you make me laugh and you make me happy. I tried to tell you before, but I couldn't- until now."

She looked at him. His eyes were shining and staring at her.

"Hunter, will you go out with me?" She said. She closed her eyes tight and waited for him to tell her no. To say that he hated her.

Suddenly his lips hit hers and all of her feelings and emotions burst from her at that moment. All of her pain was gone, and peace was all she felt. Tears were falling from her cheeks.

He pulled away slowly. To her surprise, he was crying also.

"Yes Willow. I will go out with you." Hunter said.
