Prologue

“Ahhhhh!” A cry could be heard from afar. Sounds everywhere were filling my mind. Sounds of crying, screaming, blasting and smashing were coming from every single direction. Sounds that I could never forget. Sounds that I could never forget.
I peered out of the disguised mattress I was hiding in. It was a very dark room so I could not see very much. Suddenly, there was a loud smash. I saw the door crumble and create a huge cloud of dust. It was almost impossible to look past the cloud. Pieces of the door flew in all directions. A large body flew through the cloud and landed beside the mattress. It was my dad whom I could recognize by the blue stripes contrasting to the orange scales along his body. There was a blood pouring out of a hole where his wings had been. He had scratches and cut that covered his whole body. There was blood oozing out of him. I had never seen him so beaten up.
A man walked through the door. Or so I thought it was. He was in energe form. He had red armor covering a lot of his black body. There were many parts that were unprotected. He barely had a scratch on him. He had a helmet with horns curving backward. His fingers had sharp claws and his right hand was holding a sword. The sword was red and had a black handle. There was already blood dripping down from the sword. I had seen his picture before in my books. He was an Anartha. Dad had no chance.
With incredible speed the Anartha struck dad with the sword. I knew it was the inevitable and looked away. It was probably the longest two seconds of my life. I could see drops of bloods flying everywhere along with a low ugh given by my father. It splattered everywhere. Each drop hit a surface and stained that area. I could not believe what had just happened. Could it really be? He was gone? Not only was this the longest two seconds of my life, it is also the most unforgettable. My body trembled and anger seized me. Everyone I knew and looked up to was probably dead. Maybe even the whole village. I was the last one.

“Gavin, I am not so sure we should continue to teach the boy. He is learning at a pace that is unbelievable for such a young age.” said Luke. His head was scrunched up and he was obviously thinking too much upon the subject. Although what he said was true Aalok was learning at an unbelievable pace as no other person has ever. He has learned tae kwon do, karate, and kung fu in a matter of couple months whereas many people suffer for decades to establish this perfection. Even after all those years of training many people do reach perfection. Although the talent is unusual it may assist in a positive outcome in the end. It may be our only chance to save our race and the rest of the country. Our fate lies in his and four other’s hands.
“It is okay Luke. It is all for the best, my friend, for this may be our last chance.” Gavin replied reassuringly.

Survival of the Fittest

“Aarav, you better win this match. Only then could represent our village as one of the Legendaries.” said Riya. She was just repeating things that I have been thinking about for months while I trained and competed in the tournament. This was the final match and it meant everything. Only after this triumph, will I be able to avenge my parents – our parents – for their death. Riya was my sister and was very young.
I have been everything to her and she was everything to me. We did not have much money as my parents we very poor before they died. They were killed by the Dark Lords when they attacked our village. I have been training my whole life for this fight. After this fight will I be able to avenge my parents as part of the Legendaries.
The Legendaries are five warriors that are chosen from each of five tribes to represent and fight evil. This tradition has been around for many years and many more to come. I will have a chance at the Dark Lord who has ravaged and destroyed our land for many years.
“I know Riya. Do not worry I will win this fight. I know my offenders strengths and weaknesses as I have studied it inside out.” I reassured her.
“Aarav are you ready to fight.” said one of the referees.
“Yes sir.”
“Then let us begin.” He replied with a nod. I stepped into the field where I will fight my offender. The field was completely a water stadium with a small island in the middle. We were taken to the island to begin the fight. The other boy was wearing a blue outfit which outlined his muscular body. He had a bigger body in comparison to his arms and legs. He was obviously much stronger than me so I will have to fight him from a distance and time my attacks appropriately.
“Let the fight begin.” said the referee.
My opponent immediately jumped into the water. A blue light took the shape of my opponent as he landed in the water. A beast appeared in front of me. The beast was a giant fishlike animal. It had a brown shell that looked very strong. A head with a long neck came out of the shell. The beast had scaly-skin and gills underneath the head. Four fins also came out of the shell. My opponent quickly changed into his energe form. It was probably an adult age level so we were even in that sense. An energe form is moulded by each person differently. The type is inherited by the tribe the person grows up in. In my case, it would be water. The form the person takes on can be inherited or a representation of how a person feels on the inside. It is a very complicated concept that people do not understand. There are many secrets hidden away that magicians have been attempting to unlock for centuries. The Legendaries are known to unlock a few of these secrets.
The beast opened its mouth and water emerged from it directly coming in my direction. It was similar to how water came out of a hose. I jumped and avoided the attack.
Since he immediately turned into his energe form and attacked, he probably wanted to end the battle quickly. Why not surprise the boy a little with some tricks? I should not attack him by myself at first.
“Serpent!” I yelled and lifted my arm face the water beside the opponent. A huge serpent emerged and was staring at my opponent. He looked at the serpent wide eyed as he had not expected such a menacing animal to appear. What he did not know was that the serpent was made out of water. It was a little trick I had learned during training. He would realize that it was made out of water soon so I would have to attack quickly.
I used my mind to control the serpent and simply had to keep my arm up to direct my energy toward the serpent. The serpent swallowed the beast and started going upward face the sky while spinning. The beast did not resist and could not move. Its energy was being drained and it was taking a lot of hits. Then the beast made its move. It put its head and fins inside its shell and started spinning. The spinning speed increased at a rapid rate. My Serpent burst into droplets of water and fell out of the sky. It made the field rain for a short period of time.
It was time to step things up a notch. I changed into my energe form. I felt the blue light envelope my body. I felt more energy coursing through my veins. I felt as if I had become a whole new person. I loved the feeling. My arms slowly turned into wings with beautiful silver feathers. The silver feathers covered most of my body other than the stomach area. On the end of the wings, there were three wide fingers. My legs became shorter and knees became wider. My face became a more triangular shape and was covered by a strong mask. The mask was a dark blue tint and had holes for my eyes to peer through. There was also armor with the same material covering my chest. My back had a line of spikes that were the same dark blue colour. It was time to show him my real power.
I looked up to see my opponent who was now in the water staring at me. “Tornadoes” I yelled out loud. There were many tornadoes that formed out of the ocean that reached as high as the sky. It was changing the water currents and my opponent was having a hard time staying in one spot in the water. He once again opened his mouth and released water. I spun in circles avoiding the attack.
It was time for a close range blow to knock off his balance because he was having a hard time staying in one spot in the water. I flew directly at him head first and collided with him. I hit part of the shell and was pushed back by the power of the blow. It was just enough power for him to loose ground. He got caught in the current of water and was sucked into one of the tornadoes. He spiralled to the top of the tornado and was spit off the top and landed on the island with a thud.
He did not move for sometime. I was not sure if there was going to be a surprise attack are another threat so I slowly and cautiously flew toward him. His eyes were closed so I gave him a little push to see if he was awake. He did not wake up. He must be unconscious. He gave of some energy that I absorbed into my body through my chest. This was a regular tradition in every fight so that the winner could gain power and strength from his last opponent. This power is stored in the body for further growth to increase the power. So I won. I finally won. I could not believe it. I looked up at the sky and roared. The roar had caused a flock of birds nearby to flee in panic.

“Good job.” and elder said as he walked in to the hut. I was being treated for a wound on my head I had received in the headfirst collision. “Uhhh, thank you sir.”
“You must be wondering who I am. I am here to take you to be trained and be one of the Legendaries. I was once a Legendary hundreds of years ago and now have started training for the future generation.” The man said. He had neat white hair that was long and went past his shoulders. He was a short man but had a very built body. He did look somewhat old but he definitely did not look the age that he said. But then again I have never seen a person who was thousands of years old so who was I to judge. His eyes were the same baby blue eyes as me. Maybe it was a trait that all Legendaries had.
“Sir it is an honour to meet you.” I replied to show some respect.
“I am sorry to rush you but we will be leaving tonight as there is a lot of work to be done.” The information he said surprised me. Tonight, this was too soon. I had not expected that and was shocked. I could not say no to him so I had not choice. I was leaving tonight.

Beginning of a New Generation

I walked into a huge room. Everything in the room was black and white. There was an enormous window that peered across the land. The land was full of luscious and tropical trees and looked absolutely beautiful. There was a huge table the centre that was a rectangular shape. It had one chair at short end of the table. Along the length of the table there were 3 chairs on either side.
There were a group of people in the centre of the room. Each looked much different than the other. There was one boy with yellow eyes and a blond faux hawk. His skin was slightly tanned. He could not seem to sit still as he played with his fingers and a spherical object on the table. Next was a girl with long green hair that went below her waist. It had a few curls in it. Her skin was slightly pale. Sitting next to her was a large boy. His hair was black with a tint of brown. He had huge arms and was probably almost 7 feet. He had a serious look on his face and had circle beard along with short hair. The last was a boy who was not sitting like the rest. He was standing leaning against the wall and had a blow out. His hair was black
“Hello everyone” said Neel walking in. “Welcome our final member to the Legendaries, Aarav.” “Hey bro.” said the boy with blond hair and jumped up to shake my hand. “It’s great to finally meet you. It has been a while since I have seen a boy with different colour hair than the tribe he belongs to. That kinda reminds me of Aalok because he also has different colour hair. By the way how was the trip here? Was it well? Did everything go to plan?” said the blond haired boy in almost one breath. I did not know that people could say so many things so fast.
“Uhhh” I replied not remembering what the first question was and what to say.
“Vivaan shut up and sit down for a little while.” said Neel saving me a lot of trouble.
“Aarav meet the rest of the team. You have already met Vivaan. That over there is Avni” pointing at the girl with green hair. “Beside her is Shaurya” referring to the lard boy. “And finally Aalok” referring to the boy leaning against the wall.
“Okay let’s get down to business. Everyone go train with Neel because you guys made it here by luck. Go train and I will handle all the matters until you are stronger enough to join me.” said Aalok getting up and looking at each of us. Vivaan jumped up and said “Woah, chill bro, since when do you call the shots. We are equals. We are…”
“I am the leader since I know the full potential of my power and have already surpassed my training.” Aalok said cutting Vivaan off. “Unfortunately, Aalok I have to side with Vivaan in this one. We do not even know you and you are already trying to control and give commands. If you have not realized yet, I do not take commands, I give them.” said Shaurya getting up and looking down at Aalok. Aalok did not even flinch or slow his breath. If he was scared of Shaurya he was doing a good job hiding it. If Shaurya stood before me and glared down at me I would probably be stuttering.
“If you do not believe that I am the strongest then we shall fight. We will fight in our very own training arena. Get prepared and meet me there.” Aalok said looking straight at Shaurya confidently. “And I mean all of you.”
“Bring it on bitch. I am ready for anything you bring at me. I got eyes at the back of my head.” Vivaan said as he did some footwork around Aalok. He was very fast and light on his feet. I could not take him seriously because he was scrawny in comparison to Aalok and acted as a child. I had a few giggles but tried to keep as serious as possible.
Everything had happened so fast. It was obvious there was a lot of tension in the group and there was not enough trust in the group. I had to do something or else we would loose against the Dark Lord. There was no trust in the group so how would they trust each other with their lives. All of our lives depended on this trust. I would have to also fight and try to teach them to trust one another.

Clash of the Warriors

“I see that everyone is prepared to loose today.” said Aalok a bit cockier than I had expected. He was not even the slightest bit worrier and kept his cool face. “This is the field we will be fighting in. It is also the field everyone will be training in for the future.” The field was much different than the one back home. It was actually very plain. It was just ground with patches of grass growing in places. It looked as if it has received a serious beating. There were marks all over the field; scratches, scorches and burns. “So who will verse me first.” said Aalok.
“I will” said Vivaan and Shaurya in unison. They both glared at each other. I could tell that they both wanted to fight first and prove their strength.
“Relax. Relax. I will fight both of you first.” said Aalok. He seemed so confident but overconfidence is not a positive trait. What makes him think that he can handle the both of them at the same time? He had no chance yet he had proposed the offer. He definitely had a trick up his sleeve. Vivaan and Shaurya were probably thinking the same thing because when I looked over at them they were shocked and staring at Aalok with a surprised look.
Shaurya was the first to snap out of the daze and said “I will not accept that offer. I believe that you will have no chance as the odds are two against one. Aalok gave on look at him and said “Who cares about the odds. I will still be winning in the end so lets get started.” And with that he walked onto the field. He obviously did not want to have a further conversation. Shaurya and Vivaan looked at each other, shrugged and followed Aalok onto the field.
Shaurya and Vivaan stood to the right side of the field and were facing Aalok on the right side of the field. “BEGIN!” yelled Neel from behind me. I did not even know he was there or when he got there.
Vivaan instantly changed into his energe form. A yellow light surrounded Vivaan. His arms and legs grew longer. He got taller. There was yellow fur with black spots growing all over his body. His t-shit ripped off and his pants looked a little small. The bottom of his pants and ripped. His pants had baggy pockets which were not there before. He also had thick belt around his waist. He looked a lot like a cheetah with pants. Vivaan instantly started to run on all fours towards Aalok. As his hind legs left the ground it created a cloud of dust behind him. I had never seen anyone move with such speed. He was a yellow blur moving towards Aalok. He was probably planning on a head on attack. Aalok did not look worried and just stood there. I looked over at Shaurya who was still in his human form. He was also astounded by Vivaan’s speed and was watching the battle.
As Vivaan got close to Aalok he pounced as a cheetah would at its prey. Aalok’s fist opened and was blazing with fire. It was a trap but there was not enough time to Vivaan to escape. Aalok had probably expected that move from Vivaan. Aalok lifted his hand above his head and attacked. It was a swift movement but had so much power. Aalok brought his hand down, grabbed his face and pushed it in the ground while bending his leg. Vivaan’s head went straight into the ground. It created some wind to whip up sand from that area. The wind cleared up and all that was left was Aalok in the same position and Vivaan in his human form. Aalok went back to standing and looked up at Shaurya. A smile crept along his lips. He had defeated Vivaan who was supposed to be an equal without breaking a sweat.
Shaurya’s eyes grew. He changed into his energe form. A brown light surrounded his body. He grew more, which I thought was physically impossible, and his whole body turned brown. It looked like he was a big person made out of rock. There was probably nothing special about his form other than that he was a lot stronger, physically speaking.
Then he brought his hands up several times. Each time he did, a wall of rock appeared from the ground. It was creating a maze. He wanted to confuse Aalok. That was not a bad idea since Aalok had a lot of power. I had not expected Shaurya to also be able to think strategically unlike Vivaan. It gave him a chance to win.
Aalok lifted his arm and pointed it at the wall. It was still on fire. I saw his muscles tense up and numerous blasts of fire erupted from it. I could feel the vibrations of each blast breaking the walls. All that was left was pieces of rocks where the walls were. Among the rubble was Shaurya’s human body lying in the rubble. “WOW!” said Avni wide-eyed.
Aalok lifted Vivaan’s body onto his shoulder and walked to Shaurya’s body. Then he grabbed Shaurya’s leg and dragged them back to us. “Neel, take care of them while I take on the next competitors. Neel took Shaurya’s body and left through one of the doors leading to the inside of the building, along with Aalok behind. After a few minutes, Aalok came back after a few minutes and looked at us. “So, who’s next?” Aalok asked.
I looked at Avni to see hear reaction. “Aalok, I am not participating in this fight. I do not want to be a leader. I am a follower.” said Avni. I was hoping that she would go next to avoid the fight but I knew that I would have to fight. “I will go help Neel heal the boys” said Avni.
“As you wish” said Aalok. He seemed to have no emotion toward it. He looked neither happy nor mad. “I guess it’s just you and me” said Aalok facing me.
“Let’s do this.” I said trying to build self confidence. I could do this I just have to surprise him and break his focus.
He looked surprised as if he did not think that we would continue this fight but still continued to the field. I followed him and went to the left side of the field as Vivaan and Shaurya had.
“Make your first move to start” Aalok said. He was giving me the first move so I would have to make it a good one. I knew just what to do. It was time to call on Serpent but there was no water. I hope that I could get water from deep in the earth to summon it. I was able to feel the water with my and mind and called it up. The ground shook as the water snake was coming through it. I could tell Aalok was not expecting this much power. I had given him the surprise. Objective met I thought in my mind. The thought formed a little smile across my lips and Aalok saw it. He looked surprised for a second.
In the middle of the field the water snake emerged. Parts of boulders and rocks flew from where Serpent emerged. I made it looked as angry as ever and made it give an intimidating hiss. I made it begin to attack him. Aalok tried attacking it fire similar to how he fought Shaurya but it did not work. It just hit the water, sizzled and died down. I was his weakness of course I had the best chance to win out of the others.
Aalok jumped away from Serpent and said “Very creative Aarav. You truly are much stronger than the others. But not stronger than me.” With that he put his hands together similar to a praying position and pushed outwards with his hands. Nothing happened. I looked around to see if there was anything happening but nothing happened. It felt as if it was getting hotter. Something was definitely wrong but I did not know what. Where was the attack? I looked at Aalok but just had that stupid smirk along his lips. I think he was making the air hotter. I could feel my energy dropping rapidly and Serpent slowly evaporating.
It was time to change into energe form. I changed into my form and as I did tornadoes of water came surging through the field as Serpent had. The clouds overhead became darker. I gave a mighty roar as I felt my energy climbing back up. The air was still warm but droplets of water from the tornado kept refreshing me. It was a great feeling but it was time to get back to business.
I faced Aalok who seemed impressed by the tornados and was admiring them. He was not even paying attention to me. “Very impressive. Finally, some potential in the group.” He said. I could not believe this. Other than concentrating on the battle he was looking for potential. It felt good to be complimented.
I sent a blast of water and without even looking in my direction he sent a burst of fire from my hand that was equal. I dived at him hoping to get a strong headbutt. Aalok jumped out of the way, did a flip, and landed on top of me and rode me. I did not know how to get him off. I tried shaking him off and flew upside down but it didn’t work. I tried to look upwards to see what he was doing on me. All I saw was a fist surrounded by a ball of fire hit my head. After that everything went black.

A New Power

I awoke to see Neel and Avni sitting by my side. Avni had a huge smile on her face. “That was incredible.” said Avni. “Yes indeed. You also seem to have quite a bit of potential.” said Neel.
“I suppose that Aalok is now the leader?” I mumbled not very proud of myself. How could I just let him win? I was so close. It was within my grasp. The team will be broken with all the trust issues.
“Yes he is.” said Neel without emotion. I suppose he knew the results. “But your second in command!” said Avni with so much emotion.
“What?”
“Ye, he decided that you had a lot of potential and since he will not be there most of the time, you will take over.” Maybe this team did have a chance.
“Alright enough chit chat.” said Neel “Its time to train.”
“Already, I’m still recovering.” I replied not wanting to get up. The bed was so comfy.
“No, get up.” He replied.
I got up and went to the field. Everyone was already there and meditating in a circle except Avni and Aalok. I sat down beside Vivaan and began to meditate. Then Neel walked into the middle of the circle and sat. Open your minds up, I want to be able to feel the power exchanging between all of you.
What was he talking about? I must’ve missed a lot of training. Then I realized that I could feel the presence of their minds. I reached out and felt someone’s mind. There was suddenly a block that was formed. I could not get past it and opened my eyes. How had I done that? I had never been able to do that before.
“Okay enough meditating everyone. I will first catch Aarav on everything he missed.” Then Neel faced me. “Aarav what we learned in the past few days was that being a Legendary does not give you power but it unlocks power that you already had. Also, we are beginning to open up our minds to one another but stay within reasonable limits and not pry into memories. It is a privacy issue that many people do not wish to share. When they are ready then they will show their memories. For now we are just learning to communicate between our minds which will allow better communication through battle.”
We learned many things that day but Neel focused on me. We did many martial art techniques from Tae Kwon Do, Karate and Kung Fu. We learned some theory here and there but not much. We learned that the only way to stop the chaos was to defeat both Dark and Light Lord because they are having a war and both are actually destroying our villages. Neel focused on me because he was also a water warrior and taught me many new techniques. This training continued on for weeks and months. Aalok came and joined once in a while but barely came. He just came to watch our progress which he did not look pleased about.

Raiding Time

“It is time to see if the training had been doing any good.” said Aalok “There are packages of food being sent to the Dark Lord today so we will pursue and try to get the package. There are about a hundred warriors sent to guard the package so it will be a serious fight. Get ready we will be going in a few hours.”
“This is such sudden notice.” said Neel surprised with the information. He seemed to know a bit more about the package but I will discuss this with him later.
“Will we be able to complete this task with the training given?” Shaurya asked Neel.
“Of course we can you big ogre. Look at you. You can probably eat them instead of fight.” said Vivaan. We all laughed because it was true and he was truly a beast. Vivaan and Shaurya also became very close throughout our training sessions. I receive extensive training from Neel because he is also a water fighter so I have been working the hardest. Avni has been learning about herbs for healing from books in the library and forests in the nearby areas. She excels greatly at healing and increasing our abilities through herbs. Aalok is never there so that leaves Vivaan and Shaurya by themselves. They became very close and learned some joint strategies and movements that make them much stronger together. Shaurya lacks in speed but has high defence and Vivaan is the opposite so they support each other in what they are weak in.
“It is enough laughing go get read, it is time to go.” said Aalok who did not laugh but did give a little smile that circles along his lips. That’s the most happiness I ever see him express. Even in our mind communication system, he does not express his feelings; he is strong enough to always hide his mind, thoughts, memories and feelings from us.
We decided to run to the spot. I flew in my energe form while carrying Shaurya because he is the slowest one. Vivaan is really quick so we sent him to scout the area until we get there. Avni jumped from tree to tree swiftly and gracefully. There was something about her that was so eye catching. Aalok decided to run and he was fast since he was able to keep up with me flying and Avni jumping. Eventually, we reached our destination. We found Vivaan inspecting the troops from in a tree.
We began using telepathy to talk.
You got any extra info I said.
Yes. There are more than a hundred troops. Probably closer to hundred and twenty. Some of them are heavily equipped with guns and artillery so watch out. There are also some jets and other aircrafts. Some are hidden and try to move stealthily.

replied Vivaan.
Okay, then we will attack from very far or close. Our first hit should be a strong one and kill numerous troops are at least stun them.

replied Aalok. I had to agree with him it was a good idea for now. Avni stay in the forest and try to heal us once the battle begins with spells and try to attack from far.

Avni instantly left to find a hiding spot where no one would find her.
I will take the aircrafts

I replied. I could sense the others agreed with this tactic.
Vivaan attack the troops on foot with me. Shaurya create a maze with your walls to confuse them and separate from the package. The package is in a big vehicle. Aarav before you go to attack the aircrafts send some of you tornadoes to cause a lot of damage.

With that everyone departed. I used the tornadoes and moved them to cause some damage. Along with the tornadoes I also sent Serpent. Serpent probably did more damage than the tornadoes to start off with. He ripped many of the bodies to shreds and left a bloody trail. Then I saw Vivaan and Aalok begin to attack. With that I left to go guard the skies. I saw a jet manoeuvring closer to the ground so I flew to it, grabbed it with my teeth and bit into it. I had not realized that my jaws were so strong. I crunched into the jet like crunching into an apple. It was so easy. Many of the aircrafts saw me and came charging towards me. There were a lot more than I had expected.
I tore through many of the aircrafts like a person ripping paper. I shredded and clawed through many of them. Then they began firing missiles. I dodged many of them and redirected a few to hit other aircrafts. My energy was being drained but I could not do anything about it. I felt powerless and weak. I could not stop fighting, not at a crucial moment like this. I fought on and hard. I could feel some of them breaking through my armour. I had only about ten left when I could fight no longer. All the missiles hit me and I did not have the energy to move. The pain was too great. I started falling. I knew it was my job to handle the aircrafts. I mustered up the little bit of energy left while falling and attacked. I opened my mouth and breathed ice. I froze all of the aircrafts and they also began to descend with me.
What just happened? I attacked with ice. I thought I was a water type. I would have been so happy if it was not for the fact that I was falling and had not energy left to be happy. With that my eyes closed. I could feel my body speed up towards the ground. This was it.
Aarav.

I heard a voice in my head. Aarav it’s time to evolve.
Avni is that you?

Yes. It is time to evolve. You see that crest.

I saw a picture in my mind but in all the confusion I could only wonder what she was talking about. I am already fully evolved and in adult form. I could feel my body accelerating towards the ground.
I am going to engrave it in you okay.

said Avni.
Okay. But why? I did not even get a reply back. Before I knew it I could feel my skin ripping to form the pattern from the crest. It hurt tremendously but I did not have the energy to scream. I did not even have the energy to resist.
Once the crest was done being drawn I could feel my energy comeback and more. It was so much power. So much energy. I could feel the overflow of energy flowing through my veins. I could feel my energe body changing. The material of my armour began to cover my whole body. Even the tips of my wings. The only thing left exposed was my wings and eyes. I grew some arms under my wings. They were not very long but were very strong. The crest stayed permanently on my chest but was slightly a different shade of white than the colour of the armour on my chest. The armour was spiky all over and gave a lot of extra protection. My tail turned into a trident and each longer piece was a drill. My shoulders of my arms had extra spikes coming out of the side. I felt my chest area becoming wider with muscle. I was a whole new energe. I knew I had a whole new power that I could possess now.
Avni, what happened? I asked her so confused and thankful.
You evolved. I found the crest in a book in the library with all of the information. The Legendaries get to evolve more than regular energes.
Thank you. That was all the explanation I needed.
With that I helped Aalok and Vivaan with the troops on the ground. I tore many of their heads off before they knew what hit them. I attacked with jets of water from my mouth. I saw the vehicle ahead. Shaurya had done a good job with the mazes. There were only a few troops that had found their way back to the vehicle. It indeed was a very big vehicle. It moved very slowly and was probably the size of a house. The whole outside was made of metal. I punched through the metal and made a hole big enough for me to squeeze through.
I came through and what I saw on a pedestal was actually a package. When Aalok said it was a package I did not expect it to actually be in a box with a stamp and everything. I picked it up with stop by a black hand with claws. Hsssssss. Nice try.

It said in my head. How is it talking to me? I should probably attack it before it attacks me. Let’s try to freeze. I sent out energy the same way I had done it the first time. It worked. The ice covered the whole monster. It was a weird monster. It looked all wrong. I saw some of the ice begin it crack. It was going to escape.
With that I burst out of the vehicle and contacted everyone. I got it lets bounce.

Retaliation

I waited at a café until everyone arrived. I held the package in my hands thinking what it could be. It flipped it carefully to see what was in it. I did not think I should open it wondering what it was. I even shook it but there was no sound. I heard the café door open and looked up. Everyone was walking in at the same time. “What now?” I asked Aalok.
“Wait here and guard the box I will be back. I have to inform Neel and some other people and I will be back.” With that Aalok left running as fast as he could.
“What do you guys think is in the box?” I asked them out of curiosity. “Curiosity killed that cat” said Shaurya. He was probably right. I would ask Neel when he returned.
“Avni, how did you do that?” I asked. The whole evolution process was unbelievable I felt so powerful. I had not felt like that since I first changed in my energe form. “I found it in books in the library. I did not want to bring it up until I was sure about the information. I asked Neel about it and he said that only after an intense battle and an enormous amount of experience can help to satisfy the requirement to evolve. The level is called master level.” Avni gave a lot of information and I needed time to process everything.
“Could we also evolve?” asked Vivaan.
“Not yet. You still have not met the requirements. Neel told me that so far the only person who had me the requirements was Aarav.” Avni replied.
Suddenly a black hand grabbed my face. We were so caught up in the conversation we were not cautious of our surroundings. I could not resist the people as the troops tie all of us to many parts of the café. The people originally here had disappeared and only left us. I could not move the rope was so strong. I just realized that they were not ropes at all but pieces of metal that cut into our skin when we resisted. How had this happened in such a short amount of time? Aalok is going to kill us? During the whole chaotic mess I had left the package on a table. The monster with the black hand with claws took the package and left with all the troops. We had worked so hard and poof we lost everything in a matter of seconds.
Many hours past and we all stayed quietly ashamed of what had just happened. Then Aalok walked through the doors of the café wide eyed. He looked around and knew what happened. He walked backwards out of the café unable to believe what had happened. After he disappeared through the doors we heard a loud roar. It was so enraged. No one had the guts to ask him to free us but before I was able to ask he was long gone.

AARAV
How could those idiots mess up their first task? It was such a simple task; guarding a box. I had to work with these idiots. This is not going to work I am going to find a different way to get revenge on the evil doers.
I kept running the forest and destroyed everything in my way. I burned them into ashes. I finally came across a bar. I probably needed a few drinks to calm my mind. I walked into the bar and realized that I had crossed countries. I was in the country of Rajas. I had heard many stories of this place and they were experiencing a problem of their own. There was nice music playing in the background. I did not understand the language but that was fine.
I signalled the bartender for a beer. Thank god there are signals for these kinds of things. I would have had a lot of trouble speaking in a different language to attempt to communicate.
God, you help me with this but can’t you help me to avenge my friends and family. This is just too much pressure. Give me a sign to choose what road to take. Suddenly, the music stopped and the same line continued to repeat over and over again. I somehow used signals to ask what was wrong with the music to the bartender and I believe he signalled back that there is a problem with the sound system. Then I asked what the lyric that was playing over and over again was saying because it sounded nice and soothing. He said that it meant to build a new world.
God had sent me a sign. I knew what I had to do. I got up and ran out of the bar. I knew what I had to do.
