These are just some suggested guidelines so we can keep a civil and friendly debating atmosphere:
(1.) Try to stay a secular as you can, debates are welcome on religion and spiritual morality, but please have some intellectual backing to them.
(2.) Keep the language to day-time television. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without sounding like a well-educated sailor.
(3.) Don't be rude. This is the closet thing to a rule we have. Harassment and fighting will not be tolerated. Your topic will be deleted on the first offense. On the second, you will be removed form the group.
(4.) Use proper grammar. Typos, common mistakes, and confusion are fine, but don't argue with "omg ur just trn to fite me bruh."
That's it, so just debate to your heart's desire! Text einklappen
I recently pondered on the topic of suicide's legal standing. Currently, it is considered an illegal act, most likely to allow officers to stop someone from killing themselves without any legal persecution.
But do we not have the right to determine our own lives? If we truly want to die, why should we be restricted from doing so? I ran across a quote that really made me think, "Suicide is illegal because it's a crime to damage... mehr anzeigen

But do we not have the right to determine our own lives? If we truly want to die, why should we be restricted from doing so? I ran across a quote that really made me think, "Suicide is illegal because it's a crime to damage government property."
Now, of course there are several adolescents that use suicide as an attention mechanism, not knowing the severity of it. It displays human nature to truly value life, only when we face death.

At that point they still have the right to decide whether or not to honor your "Living Will."

The issue of execution has been a rather heated topic lately.
Basically, people believe it is immoral to execute someone.
However, they are fine with forcing someone to spend their entire life in containment. I personally would rather die then have to spend my life in a prison. There's nothing to be accomplished once your in containment.
Even a single offense of first-degree premeditated murder can get someone life if they're unfavorable to the jury. The only time a true serial killer, assuming it is someone with multiple accounts of premeditated homicide, would roam free... mehr anzeigen
Well, that depends on their conviction.

Yes, there are ways to appeal, but often a murder case will not be granted an appeals court unless new evidence comes to light that could potentially change the verdict.
And as for criminally insane, those who are to the point of negative mental health that they are a danger to themselves or society are put under supervision, generally a mental ward.

Ha ha l'm supposedly a danger to myself and society... but here l am free....

The neurology and psychology behind depression and self-harm are rather elaborate. Self-harming is disregarding the brain's self-preservation mechanism. And at the point of suicide, it's to the point where chemical imbalance has clouded the natural desire of survival and allows the person the capability to end their own life intentionally.

In the same way if you are told from that same time that it is shameful to touch your own or another person of the same gender's body parts, that also would influence what you thought about yourself.
If you were allowed to know that it is normal to notice your own body parts and the differences in others and informed that the different genders have different body parts, then you would be able to have a choice, and you could let your feelings choose for you.
In fact It would probably be better if we were all nudists, and not afraid to talk about sex openly without judgement.
While I definitely believe that sexuality is a genetic trait, I agree with Ken here.
Certain traits can be "removed", so to speak, due to life experience. I never knew it was odd or different to find attraction to the same gender, and it wasn't until around 6th grade that I... mehr anzeigen

A.M., As they say, the penalty for suicide is death.
So I guess you have already been punished, case closed.
If I were to ever commit suicide. I would want to make it look like an accident. That way my relatives would get the double indemnity on my insurance.
That is assuming I'm not so mad at them that I don't want them to get the money.
