Dark Waiting

Deftly I avoid
your greedy hands
why do you come for me?
I am your seed!

I awaken at night
to feel you
plummet inside me
my tears and pain
are not your concern

In daylight too
you come for me
I see the torture
in your eyes

I love you
but can never forgive
your theft
of my childhood

I’ve come to expect now
what you do
waiting in the dark
for you to take
what is not yours

Now there’s peace
after you’re done
I sleep without dreams

Waiting
in the dark
vaguely wondering
what if you don’t come
now that I need your release

We had food for dinner, but we both wanted a burger so we decided to go out to the lake store... Daddy said I could shower first but to remember to save some hot water for him. I told him he could go first. He said no you go, and I laughed and said, no you go. Then Daddy said, "Let’s just shower together, it will be quicker", I looked at him. He said, "What"? "I have given you and Maddy your baths plenty of times". I said, "Daddy, that's when we were seven. We've been taking our own showers since we were eight"! Daddy looked at me and said, "Would you like to shower with me"? I looked down at the floor and nodded my head yes. Daddy saw that I was hesitating about taking my bathing suit off. He said, "Let’s make this easy. We'll both turn around and take our bathing suits off and drop them on the floor and turn around again". I smiled and turned around and quickly slipped out of my bathing suit. When Daddy saw me, he just said, "oh my" and kept looking at me. I had never seen his thing before and I couldn't take my eyes off it.

So, me and my twin Madison (Maddy) are going to the lake for the weekend with our Dad. We're so excited because we will get to play The Game. In The Game there are two players who get to do stuff and the other person is the judge who decides who wins!

When we have time, we drive around town and go out to eat or go to Phoenix or other places and check out museums, watch movies read books in a library, and other things.

I grew up in Illinois. My Dad drives his truck all over the country. When my Mom left, I had to go Kansas City to stay with my Aunt because my Dad was stuck in Maine. I liked Kansas City but my Dad said we were moving to Maine where he got a new job. He came to Kansas. It’s to get me and we drove to Maine in his truck. I love my Dad a lot and we had a great time on the road. He has this thing on his truck called a sleeper cab. It’s only big enough for one person, so I slept in there and my Dad had to sleep sitting up in his truck. Sometimes we stayed over at truck stops where the food is really good but the rooms are not that nice, but they have big TV’s so we could get on the bed and watch movies. I’m back in Kansas City now so I only see my Dad about two times in a month, but it’s so fun when he comes home.
