Vegetarian Bacon
Well I finally got around to trying the "Tofu Bacon" I will never put a recipe on here again until I try it for myself.
In case any of you tried it, I am sorry. Or perhaps I am just not doing it right.
It tasted fine, but no way did it remind me of bacon. It was... mehr anzeigen

This is so simple I am going to have to try it. The ingredients are: 1banana and two eggs, beat two eggs and add 1 mashed banana fry in pan like any other pancake. I am always looking for recipes for members of my family who suffer from Gluten problems.
When I was still at home my mom made a dish with onions, hamburger ( I use sirloin or grass fed beef) kidney beans and I use fire roasted tomatoes. My husband wasn't a big onion eater but he is now. This isn't chili, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.
Oh Thank you. It sounds simply Scrumptious. Yum!
How do you fire roast tomatoes....a grill on the b-b-que?
And why not add garlic?
I would like to recomend this cook book to all my vegan, and non vegan friends.

That's a handy website - thanks!
P.S. I don't eat food after the expiration date, unless it's only one day later. However, I have a really sensitive stomach, so I don't want to push it.
I bookmarked that one, Ken. Thanks. It will put an end to many hours discussion between my wife and I. LOL
I recently asked folks to pop over and read my latest compilation of humorous and reflective (and sometimes humorously reflective) shorts in my When a Southern Woman Rambles series. The latest is 5 stories called 'Laughing at Life, One Mint Julep at a Time'
Then I was asked - What is a Mint Julep?
And that's when it dawned on my that there's an entire 'rest of the world' that doesn't really know about the sweet little... mehr anzeigen
I saw the non-alcoholic recipe change, but was intrigued by the "hard" version, hence the mention of indulging, lol! I probably will try the non-alcoholic kind, though - thanks, Avery.
I'm not one for white sugar, do you think I could make this with agave or maple syrup?
Honey is actually the best option if you don't want to use a refined white sugar. Historically, honey was the most common 'syrupy' sugar to be used when called for in recipes like this.
In fact, there are several exquisite HONEY WHISKEY (or Honey Bourbon - depending on who you... mehr anzeigen
