I enjoyed this and thought you were dead on accurate. Very thought provoking. I found only one place where I was wanting to fit in another word. It sounded awkward without it. But please keep in mind, poetry isn't my strong point and I could certainly be way off.
We have the next place where (we)start to feel safe.
