What exactly didn't you like about the ending?

Hi Sutherland,

I found your story interesting and at times amusing. I'm not sure on the ending though.

Pg 7: My attempted inquires... 'inquires' should be 'inquiries'.

Pg 10: 'Peace' should be 'Piece'.

Pg 11: Over-whelmed is such a common compound word that is generally joined without the hyphen. Also, "Good day" I said in greeting... There should be a comma between 'day' and the quote marks.

Pg 12: ...this colonies 'culture'... 'colonies' should be 'colony's' as it is used in the possessive.

Pg 12: 'Near-by' should be 'nearby'.

Pg 13: Unlike those pigeon-chicks of the slanted colony that were being hatched relatively safe, smelly shack I was hatched in a nest on a window sill. This sentence doesn't read well. Also,
'that' should be 'who'.

Pg 14: You've used 'rendered' twice in the same sentence.

Pg 16: ..."You there pigeon!". There should be a comma between 'there' and 'pigeon'. Also, 'shoot' should be 'shot'.

Pg 17: 'Barley-wild', should it be 'barely-wild'.
