My two children have Aspergers, which is at the higher end of the autistic spectrum and I can relate to many of the traits mentioned (especially with my son). Sensory issues play a big part in their everyday lives and can be easily misconstrued by both strangers and extended family as naughty behavior.
I truly hope you decide to extend this story.

Your writing is nearly flawless. I rarely find this much heart and extraordinarily well-expressed depth of feeling in even mature authors, much less someone so young! What a joy it is to finally, FINALLY read a work by a young person that isn't a jumble of misspelled, mangled, unintelligible syntax and cliched topics. I was captivated from the first sentence, and made my voice student (who showed up at my door somewhere around page 7) wait until I'd finished reading.

You are, in my opinion, one of the fine, talented and better writers of BookRix; I anxiously await your next story - congratulations on producing such a gorgeous piece of literature!

Well, that started my day off with a few tears. Emotional, gripping, painful, a 'take the reader and throw him off the cliff' heart wrench'er.
