It is the in between that scares, both. Being fully aware and fully gone are the easy parts, for one while it tears the heart out of the fully aware, remaining.

It IS one of your finest poems, Sereni. Just read it again. How well you described this terrible disease; how we see those we love slipping in and out, in and out...and then away:( Wonderful, gut-wrenching writing.

You've made my day, and thank you for reading my simple poem.

I sometimes wonder when I look back on something I've written, and ask if something was happening at that time or if they were memories spilling out for me to capture.

I use to take care of the elderly and to see them slip away into this void was hard to deal with. I'm sure at sometime we will all have to deal with this unfortunate side of life. I wrote how sad it was, but then maybe there is a peace they experience and maybe coming back to the real world is a type of torment.

Wow... Simply wow. I can't imagine what it must be like to forget who I am. I ask the question, "Would life be worth living anymore?" I still don't know the answer. It's sad that some of our best works get pushed back simply because they aren't recent. This is a beautiful piece of art.
