The war with Mexico came next and they were there.They fought against the Confederacy to free their people. They went to France in 1917 and again in 1944. They saw Korea, Vietnam,Iraq and Afganistan. As Slaves they were promised freedom as free men they were promised equality. With each promise came betrayal
