AHAHA That's such an interesting storyline!!! Some may think about how you can change someone's sexuality is weird or just wrong but its other people's opinion. I think its an entertaining story that can keep anyone interested! I hope to read more of this! I would really appreciate it if you could tell me when it will update! Thanks girl!

Hi, Your book "Way to Straight," interesting but....it is an old myth that we chose our basic human sexual orientation.

It is normal to be interested in other forms of sexuality as well as one's own, and exploring them through writing is possible. but just as being right or left handed isn't normally a choice, being straight or gay is not a choice either.

Authorities (religious and civil) have tried to dictate and make everyone straight sexually causing a great deal of pain to some. Alan Turin the inventor of the computer was chemically castrated by the British authorities ; see recent film "Imitation Game" and went on to take his own life.

There is a period when someone is just becoming aware of their orientation and knows they don't fit (see the story the ugly duckling , which can be seen for any situation of feeling out of it, whether by, race, colour, creed , special needs or sexual orientation.

So your heroine is starting an impossible task. She could love him as a friend, relate to him in a non- sexual way, be accepting of his orientation. (By the way I agree that there are also many dimensions to sexuality such as bi-sexual, pan sexual, cross dressers and transvestites as well as fetishists.)

Our western societies have moved a long way towards acceptance of sexualites other than hetero sexuality and as long as that sexuality does no physical or mental harm , and is not exploitative of minors or people of diminished understanding.

A complex area and of interest to many readers., and challenging for you to write about .

You could explore the issue by having the main male character explain his orientation, his struggle to be accepted , and him valuing your support . You could have the heroine struggling with accepting male gayness and the loss of a possible hetero partner. Some authors have played with this theme ; the unrequited ( unreturned) impossible love angle.
loss, and loss of love is a powerful human emotion to play with in a story.

You could have the heroine learn from her loss ( the sense of rejection of her feminine charms) and acceptance when she finds a new love, perhaps his hetero brother, or his friend. In that new relationship she is more accepting of her new partner, but also keeps in contact with her first love.

I wrote" Castello Invogliato" or to give it its English title Castle of Allure, about the end of a relationship between two women. I wrote it to show that people in the gay community have just the same emotions as straight people, and I set it in Italy because I love castles and Italy.

I see a good book in this , and one where through your characters you explore this topic, get into other peoples shoes.
