A New Girl
I watch as two kids run out of the burning house. At the time I was only a few months old and in my mum’s arms. All I know is after that the same thing happened to me. The burning house watching my mum burn on the ceiling and being carried out in my father’s arms.
Now
I stare out across the party. I look down. ‘ugh’’ I think staring at my lame as fuck costume. I smile at the 3 teens that toast and then start to chat. I study the tall boy. The teen with the sparkly face gets up to get something, leaving the tall dimple smiling boy with the girl in the nurse costume. Thus the two leave.
