My goodness, I have not been entertained with a story such as this for some time! I absolutely loved this. There was no point in which I was lost; the dialogue being on task and direct to me.
The names are all ingeniously created! I like the referals to the higher beings in their world, such as when Phoenix sighs or pleads for help. I should expect to see more culture, though. This is getting very enticing.

My only suggestion: It may be great to build upon the background; a scenery for the reader. This may be for future readers peering at this wonderful tale.
But I, as one reader, didn't need that information. I actually imagined the environment in which Phoenix and the other demi-gods are in. You took the culture, and the power of the characters, and almost crafted another world for me. May be a tad different than how you might see it. But nonetheless, I know the characters and their roles.
This is going right to my favorites. Update me when the next chapter is up...please!!! 8D
