I am enjoying your story both of my parents smoked . I tried it but could get past the cough and sore throat. I do have somebody close to me who smokes and I have seen him quit several times. I just pray he gives it one more serious try. Look forward to reading more. Serena

Growing up with smoking parents and remembering that the Flintstone were more than just vitamin characters, makes this a lot more meaningful for me.

I think I spent a good year as a smoker... which in real life was about a week. I just couldn't take it. Still, I didn;t miss out on any of the damage (except The Big C).

Dad was dead at 48 and mom died of cancer 20-some years later (after five years smoke free).

So I see the value of this piece in several ways.

Dictatorial? Yes - but in a way I agree with - so you'll get no complaint from me.
