Your last sentence should have been your whole column. Everything else was
just wishful thinking - at best. Trump does what he wants, makes decisions on
a whim, and no one has been or will be able to stop him from doing so -
including Pompeo. The only possible “check” on trump (and his sycophantic GOP
legislative/judicial branches) will be the November 2018 elections. That
