I thought that was beautifully written and well thought out. Your writing flows so naturally. I have an estranged relationship with my parents but after reading this it made memories of my childhood that made me smile. Similar familial traditions that were just between me and my Dad or me and my Mom. After reading this I hope I never forget them again. Thank you.

How lucky you were to have a Dad. Especially one who treated his kids so well. He provided you with memories that will last a lifetime, and that you will pass on to your boys...and they to theirs. That is what parenting is all about...creating tiny warm memories that live on from the simplest actions.

I envy you having a father like him. I envy you having a father at all! He would be proud of your writing and of how you portray him. Small samplings of our lives lead to autobiographies. Perhaps now is the time for you, Barry.

I don't want to sound like a big time publisher, but you should make a whole Dad series. Your memories come to life on the page, and they are beautiful

Your story was very heart warming and I was drawn in from the start. Thanks for the good memories you brought back to me. I truly felt the love you had for your father.

My Dad used to bring us goodies after his night job parking cars and they were Necco Wafers. When my dad took a nap on the couch before work his pockets were full of change. He would roll over and the change fell between the cushions. We would collect it and save it for a pizza when my parents went out. I'm sure he knew this but he never let on.

This is a wonderful gem of love remembered. Barry, you must write your complete (well up to now anyway) life story down. It's sure to be a best seller.
