Caring For My New Best Friend: A Kitty! by Morgan Smith and Coleen Liebsch is a rhyming, educational children's book that follows a kitten named Powderpuff. Powderpuff teaches the reader how to care for young kittens, like what to feed them, what a cat needs, and what a cat likes to do. Powderpuff teaches things that are very important for all cat owners to know, such as that water is better than milk for a cat, or that the litter box should be in a quiet space away from everyone else.

I really enjoyed Caring For My New Best Friend: A Kitty! by Morgan Smith and Colleen Liebsch. This book is perfect for every new cat owner to read, so they know what they should do for their new kitty. I really liked the fact that it rhymed as the rhyming was very well done. The story had a nice rhythm to it. The pictures are very colourful and well drawn and clearly depict what a cat needs. The drawings of Powderpuff are really cute. Caring For My New Best Friend: A Kitty! discusses important topics that every cat owner should know, like what to feed it and what vaccines it needs. Powderpuff is a very likeable character. The book is well researched, as the authors know a lot about cats. I would recommend Caring For My New Best Friend: A Kitty! to young readers who may be thinking about getting a cat, or anyone who just got a cat.
