I really like the basic premise of this story, the way you tie the history of the castle in the beginning to the story within. Starting with the departure of the Lady and her staff is a great way to get the reader into the story.

I was a little confused by some of the seeming random sentences, but then realized they were notes for the continuing edit-update-continue process, although I couldn't tell if some of the edits were yours or someone else's. Not that it matters, lol.

You might want to double-check your tenses; you have a tendency to go from past perfect to present within the same sentence, sometimes switching tenses in the middle of a paragraph. But I'm sure you'll spot those things as you continue to work on the story.

Like you, I'm fascinated by Ireland, but like you, I've never been there. I have a series out about a young man from Donegal, and my descriptions are based in part on research, in part on imagination, and in part on photos and stories from people I know who have visited it. Seems to me you've done a sensational job in your descriptions so far. The way you describe the sea at the base of the castle, its movement, the way it engaged the senses of your character, really pulled me right into the scene. That takes talent!
