I found your argument, though not as rigorous as I might prefer, quite provocative of thought about the basic goals of mental health services. Too often the approach is taken of labeling the "sick" patient in a way that detracts from the person's abilities to become more self-empowered and societally engaged. Perhaps there is a need to refocus efforts for better consolidation of the needs of both individual and society.
