As usual, written with heart felt emotion. Sadness, longing, memories, and of course, love. Laz, you definitely have the art of "plucking ones heartstrings".

I didn't understand, though, the connection of the first part to the last...Slocum's Song. Explain?

Good read - Is the end "Kiss Me" by Slocum. I am not acquainted with this. But regardless, I love the images you project. right way my interpretation was that you have finally died, or are in process, and now can see her and almost but not quite join her. Great reflections. Makes a lump in my throat of emotion. some of your phrasing is great- Laz have you placed any of your pieces out on Amazon or other on-line places??? You have many good possibilities for collections. I know I've read and commented on this lovely work previously, but if I'm not completely off here, I believe you made a few little changes. The addition of "Kiss Me" at the end was a beautiful touch, too. There's so much movement in this, so many levels - it's one of those stories that seem to get better with each reading. And by making little changes here and there, you're giving it an unintentional (perhaps) feeling of time-lapse metamorphosis. Thanks for calling me back to it. ')
