I was feeling sorry for the poor guy man. Dang. Different. Making me think twice about that tattoo.

Great imagery. I was compelled and would love to know more about Dex.

I like the way you describe how a person was tortured in a war. My favorite was your second story because it was more realistic. Great contest piece!

Ah thanks! I make that mistake all the time!

You really did an excellent job in transporting the reader to some grimy dungeon of doom and infinite torture...while giving minimal descriptions! :) Very well written, though I think you intended to say "is its source...?" and not of "is it's source...?" (possessive, not contraction of "it is").

Well I tried to take things I would fear in such a situation (not being able to see my surroundings or define the source of sounds) and use those elements in the setting that was so clear in my mind. Now that I think about it, a good inspiration for horror and torture is The Pit and the Pendulum by Edgar Allan Poe.

Maybe you can share your source of inspiration. I'm trying to do a WWII tale and need help creating sordid scenes.
