My friend Kalai, I find in your stories a gentle and kind spirit. You have reminded me that nature is not a commodity to be exploited for our needs and wants, but something that is special and interwoven into our lives for a purpose. As I stared at the many examples of Kolams, I saw them moving, as if they were alive and sending a message of peace and calm. Thank you my friend.

I did not realize that the kolam's design had a different impact. Its good to know about this about my culture thank you. Its also nice to see another tamil person on this site :D.

I could see many different uses for this kind of artform. To name a few, one could do paintings of kolams, artist trading cards, greeting cards, etc. The only limit is one's imagination! It looks kinda simplistic but maybe my eyes are deceiving me as you stated it takes time to learn this. Oh, another idea that came to mind is sand paintings. One can do a sand painting of a kolam or group of them with different colored sand.... mehr anzeigen
