Kex

At six-foot-seven, Kex was quite literally the big man on campus. He was also handsome, smart, good-hearted and well-liked. But there had been a time when he'd been neither handsome nor well-liked. So one day he made a decision...This is Part One of what turned out to be an extraordinary life.

This book is for everyone who has been bullied, humiliated, or in any way made to feel unimportant. The answer isn't revenge - the answer is remembering that no one's opinion of you is more important than your opinion of yourself, and then live your life with the joy of self-acceptance.

Of all the books I've read of yours, I'd have to say this one is by far my favorite!
I keep coming back too it whenever I'm stuck with what to read next. I want a Kex of my own, why is he so darn adorable? I love how you portray Bullying and instead of the usual sad and depressed main character, you have him be an incredibly strong and humble human being. (Not that sad, and depressed main characters are bad. Just over... mehr anzeigen

Wow! How kind you are - your response to my work is incredible, and means more to me than I can say (and that's something for a writer to admit!).

And yeah, I kinda fell in love with Kex myself, lol. Thanks again!

Oh my gosh! I absolutely love this book! I don't have or can't think of any adjective to best describe this book so I'll just opt to grin like a fool while melting inside and sliding slowly down a wall! So good!

Life is odd. But add a writer into the mix and all hell breaks lose! Thank you for sharing. I am sure someone's life has been changed after reading this. Publish it and see how it goes. You will not be disappointed, I assure you.

You're awesome - I'll take your advice for sure and include it in my anthology. If the story helps even one person, I'll be delighted that my writing had a positive impact. Thanks again! ')

The content was interesting and urged you you read further. It's the key to a good read.

One thing I would warn against is using He/She to start too many sentences.

The social comment surrounding bulling was handled very well. This would definitely be recommended reading for those being bullied or those doing the bulling.

Well, I thought I’d take a peek at this and then couldn’t put it down. Hooked from the first page I think this is a brilliant coming of age story with the added twist of the main protagonist overcoming the bullies. I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed this gem of a narrative so full of vitality and I’d love to read a sequel.

Can't wait to find out more and Kex's life! I love that Kex keeps his maturity and didn't seek revenge when the opportunity presented itself!
I wish that everyone who has been a part of bullying could read KEX! :)

How can I thank you for such kind words? I'm thrilled that you enjoyed this so much, Mel! As for Kex, he seemed to write himself, so to speak - and honestly, I kinda fell in love with him myelf, lol! And to think he started "life" as letters on a license plate... Thank you so very much; I appreciate your response more than I can adequately say. 'D

I wanted to finish reading it before I gave my review. Although I knew since the first 2 pages that I was not going to be dissapointed which is why I placed it in my favorites.

First of all... I can't believe you made me fall in love with Kex so much, it's like watching a hot anime guy and wishing he was freaking real! That's mean!

Second of all... I loved loooved loved loved this book!! You have no idea! It was awesome. Your... mehr anzeigen

My poor husband. He should just make a recording of himself saying, "Okay, what are you crying about THIS time?" Thank you, Val. Your comment as ever was kind, helpful, encouraging, and yes, tear-inducing.

I just got home from a veeerrrry long day at work followed by driving my kids all over town, and dealing with a spider the size of New Jersey snarling at me on the inside of my windshield as I drove back (in semi-hysterics,... mehr anzeigen

As usual, you never fail to deliver. You put this together after seeing a car's license plate? And not just a short ten-page story, but a huge story. When I first saw how many pages (72), my heart sank. Did I really want to spend an hour reading this many pages? But, as usual, your easy way of writing, the way the story just flows, made it not only enjoyable, but I was sorry when it ended!

This is a perfect Young Adult story... mehr anzeigen

What a wonderful response! Tanya, I'm going to go fix the typo right now and look for the other one - appreciate you letting me know (can't stand typos...nasty little buggers...), lol!

I'm working on the continuation of this; Kex seems to have lodged himself in my imagination and won't leave me alone until I finish his story.

Thanks again for reading this, everyone - encouragement is such a blessing! 'D
