My friend, Hannah, read this, and it really hit her hard because she's Vietnamese. Her mother fled Saigon (now Ho Chi Min City) during the War. Her grandfather owned what was basically the Heinz of Vietnam before they left, and they lost everything. She'd like to comment, but she can't. You might get an essay in return out of this.
