Hello, stranger, It's been a while! I'm glad you enjoyed the story. There's a huge thread of truth in the tale. The setting does exist; the lake home and cabin are now owned by my cousin, and my sister and I did spend numerous summers at the cabin when we were kids. I was inspired to write the story, with considerable embellishment, of course, after we visited there last summer.
They say to always write about what you know to give it a genuine feel. You did just that it sounds like. :)
