I really like this one. John found out something I've known for 35 years. It's wonderful to be in love with your best friend.

Review - I liked how quickly you covered the main points in your experience. You did a nice job of showing just enough and keeping my interest. This would be a great article for a magazine, giving the beginner a look into what it will take. I liked how you gave details of what you need to do to protect yourself in this sport. I would never have imagined the need for bandaids and vasoline.

Good writing style. Second sentence in I think is actually two sentences, but you did a great job overall. Robynn

As a person who also tortures herself with running, I can completely understand the pain and doubt and almost the understanding of the hidden rewards of pushing yourself and being supported to do something that may seem stupid!

It made me feel like I was there with you.

Oh, and that is as close to running a Marathon as I am ever going to get.

First of all, congratulations at achieving your goal. I don't know much about running so there are many things I would never have thought of until I read your account. I have a friend who runs marathons, she was 47 at the time when those pictures of her running through the finish line were taken. Your account makes me wonder what preparations she had to make after reading your account.

You're a good story teller, it was easy to visualize being with you while you ran. And thank God for Marsha. It is nice to have support from your loved ones. Nice story of determination, support and love.

Really enjoyed this HUGE remembrance, John. I was going to say "tale" in that previous sentence, but thought better of it, lol. Even now, so many years after the fact, I'm proud of you!
