It's about time, it is unbelievable how much work these teachers have been
doing for so little pay. The boards of education in all 50 states haven't
suffered enough, because there are so few decent paying jobs overall. If not
for that fact, there would be no teachers at all in this country. About 20
years ago, I took one look at what NYC teachers were getting paid and what the
educational requirements were, and I appropriately chose not to be a teacher.
As far as I'm concerned, every teacher in the whole country should find
another job until we take education seriously and double the salaries for
teachers. Very few people I know work as hard as a good teacher.
