This is a very nice short story! It touches me in a way that only someone that lives and knows the military life could be. My husband is a SGT and has been to Iraq once now and is looking at another tour. When he left us the first time, our daughter was only 2 months old. The next time he saw her was on R&R for her 1st birthday. He missed everything of one of the most tender years of his first borns life. We have been married for going on 4 years and have only spent 1 anniversary together because of training and deployment. Now he is to deploy again and we will miss another round of anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, and everthing in between. I commend you on this work! It really touched me.
