This is well-written, but it sounds like an excerpt from a much longer, complicated work of fantasy. Is there more of it somewhere? Like a beginning on one side and a continuation on the other? If so, I'd love to read it. I was captivated by the concept and in a very short number of words found myself caring for your character. Please tell me there's more somewhere?
