It is a period following severe political strife in the United States. Questionable tactics used during an election and the open border policy of the new unaccepted president, leave the right side of the poiltical spectrum angry and tense. The accusations of the right regarding the legitimacy of the election and their newly elected president leaves the left side of the political field insulted and ready to defend their leader.
The spark that lit the fuse that eventually drew the entire country into a war against itself is no longer significant. All anyone knows is that, if the United States of America is to continue, the other side must die.
In spite of the raging off and on conflicts around the U.S., Shane Collins and McKenna Rogers are fighting individual battles of survival and hope. They come from different cultural, racial, and geo-social backgrounds and yet, they are on the same path that will eventually lead them to Washington D.C. in a last ditch effort to end CW2.
