A brilliant masterpiece amongst the other books of its category. Domesday with an epical mien rather than the usual gloomy atmosphere merged with philosophical symbolism which refelects wisdom and a deep grasp of wide lore.

I enjoyed reading JD. It is a very real depiction of what it might be like. A friend of mine had a near death experience after a senseless beating. He was in ICU when he died and then brought back. He has a similar story about meeting Jesus and the angels surrounding him. He wants me to tell his story and after reading yours, i am inspired to write it. Thanks for your insights.

I'm a Norwegian Lutheran - because my Mom told me so:) I joke but it's kinda true.

I have been curious about religion most of my life because I've always had a hard time understanding how people can become so angry over minor differences of opinion. What I ACTUALLY believe is that every religion in the world has a little piece of the answer but the only way we can ever see the FULL picture is by coming together. As people we don't always do that very well.
The story of "Judgment Day" is interesting though because I believe I'm just the messenger. I recently added a preface to the book that might explain a little more...

"Although I’ve always considered myself to be a religious person, it’s always been a very private thing… until I was inspired with the message in “Judgment Day.”
It happened after a series of events where, to condense A LOT, God got my attention.
After receiving the inspiration for the story and writing it down as quickly as I could type it, I prayed—privately, of course.
I had been having excruciating back pain for several years and even with heavy doses of pain medication it was all I could do to get through a day. So I prayed and said “God, if this is something you want me to do then you have to give me the physical ability to do it.”
I was scheduled for major surgery in less than a month and had the physical strength of a gnat. It seemed like a pretty good way to get out of what He wanted me to do to be real honest.
I went downstairs to join my family for dinner. Everyone was gathered around the island in my kitchen so there were 5 adults, one 9 year old and one 2 year old.
We were having roast chicken and my husband had put 2 large fryers on a broiler pan. What that means is that the chickens are going to squirt out about 10 cups of oil and the drip pan will hold about… 10 cups of oil.
I opened the oven door and carefully removed the pan—wearing oven mitts, of course. As I took a step back, my husband stood quickly from his stool about 2 feet away. His plan was to help me by closing the door but it startled me a bit and I took a step back a little too quickly.
There are two important facts at this point. The first is that I was wearing shorts and the second is that I like to finish off fryer chickens at 450 degrees to get the skin good and crispy.
The small jerk from my reaction was enough to offset the grease in the pan and about four cups of 450 degree oil hit every section of skin from just below my knee to the top of my foot.
As the oil ran off my leg, it sputtered like a fajita at Applebees when it hit the hard wood floor.
I’m not the most gifted cook in the world so I’ve had my share of burns but that was bad.
I somehow made it across the oily floor to the stove top where I could set the pan down safely.
In the meantime, my family is asking if I’m alright and I said “No, this is bad.” I hopped to the stool on the other side of the kitchen. My family asked if it hurt and I said “It must be a really bad one because it doesn’t hurt at all.”
I grabbed a towel and carefully dabbed at the oil covering my shin, again, I have a great deal of burn experience in the kitchen. There was nothing.
By nothing, I don’t mean there wasn’t any pain. I would have expected that because it HAD to have burnt through the nerves. My leg felt normal. I rubbed a little bit, still normal. I grabbed a soapy dish rag and washed all of the leg that was covered in oil, still nothing.
When I dried my leg, there wasn’t a blister, red spot or any other indication of a burn.
Ok God… you have my attention..."

Coleen, you shake me up! What religion are you and where did you come up with those details? It sounds like real old-school fire and brimstone my father used to relate having heard from his father. Very vivid retelling. In a perverse way I enjoyed the read.

This story is deeply disturbing, and I see that it is meant to be.

I see why your friends are disturbed that it didn't have a happy ending. Perhaps they are wrong, but then again "Who can be saved." "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."
