You have a great style of writing. I like how it is simple, but really paints a picture for me. I did get kind of lost between the boy going for the pony, and the hired guns coming to town. Other than that it is a great book.

Your right about that middle part, I've been meaning to work on that. I actually wrote it for a 'cowboy up' contest- it had to be 3000 words or less- it's hard to come up with a story and then keep it in a specific word count.
That's part of the reason I never submitted it :-/
Wow I love it its very remoniscent of the old westerns, i especially love your ending line a very memorable one
