Where's the story? After reading Judy's glowing comment I am dying to read it but when I open the novel it is missing. Tragic! I hope you will put it up again.

Too often when a story is written in the context of a different culture, I find myself distracted by those differences and have to keep going back to pick up the plot thread. This one, however, is so well written that the heart of the tale overwhelms cultural details. Driven by the main character's narrative and experience, it gripped my attention from the first sentence, and held tight through the very last word.

So much is packed into a tightly-woven plot, so much psychology, emotion, and thought-provoking realities! The pacing - perfect. The flow of the story - smooth and rapid.

I don't know if there were any notable errors (except the obvious misspelling of "choking" on the last page), mainly because the story was so good, I wasn't looking for any.

Your main character is relateable, easily capturing my empathy for her plight, her good heart making her likable from the start. Her description of her husband was realistic without being over-the-top in terms of criticism or angst.

It would have been so easy to go overboard with the emotion, but you didn't. You kept everything close, much like the determined self-sacrificing love your character lived. Her final realizations fit perfectly with what she does in the end.
