About 12 years ago, we had to have my mother-in-law involuntarily committed
because of her use of Ambien, Xanax, Oxycodone, valium and Percocet. She had a
chronically failed back, anxiety, depression and difficulty sleeping. She
didn't speak to us for two years after the 72 hour hold which led to 28 day
detox. I could have sent my girls, then 3 and 5, to college on the street
