I'm sure this one was a winner. It was a delight to read your short sci-fi piece. Of course I have to agree with others, it's a shame to waste such a delightful start and not continue the tale. All the same thank you for sharing.

It is a very interesting concept, and I just loved the ending.

The beginning could use a little work however. For instance if the Engineers were there for a month building the base, how was it that she was one of the first to set foot on the moon?
You might also explain that the atmosphere on the moon was breathable (was that expected or was that a surprise to the explorers).

Outside of that it was an outstanding story, and well written.

Good luck and keep writing. I want to know what happens next. :o)
