I can feel your pain as you deal with disaster. Descriptive.

Great job expressing your frustration. Years down the road when others remember the storm of the century, your poem reflects the realities that brought life to a stand still for a season.

It is such a cute poem. Sandy for me meant a stay over grandma's. it is interesting to see what it meant to u : )

You have touched the heart of this for many in your short eloquent poem, poet.

The frustration, how this disaster left your city, your homes, your lives, yet in your poem that holding of the breath. Poetically versed with ease. How blessed you all are.

I enjoyed your poem and the reference to the veins of the city. This made me think of all of the transportation that was shut down. Just like the veins in our bodies carrying our life’s blood, and the people are the heart.

I am curious as to why it is that so many storms have women’s names. I would have come up with a name like Cruella , and yes I know she is a Disney character, but she was oh so mean. It’s funny how you refer to Sandy as beautiful, when all she left was such pain, ugliness and devastation. Living through these horrible storms we are taught so many things like patience, sharing and looking out for those people who need assistance in their everyday lives.

There are Angels on earth during these times, and thank God for them.

We find the simplest things can be the real necessities in life.

Thanks for writing this poem and assisting in the effort to help all of those who have been touched by Sandy. I know even you have been inconvenienced since you live in New York. We Americans are resilient and this will take a while.
My prayers are with all of you who have suffered.
