Reading this column you would think we are talking about something other than
increasingly banal and cynical corruptions of an art form. The business of
movies is largely the business of seducing money from an audience more into
mindless illusion than ever. Adolescence begets adolescence and the myriad
examples of stunted maturity abound.
I went to the movies the other day and spent, for two, almost $ 30 dollars to
go in and about the same for the absurdity of 8 dollar popcorn and 7 dollar
cokes. Opiates are not the only drugs that addict and we have long created a
mythology on the screen and about the players. We are all complicit in how
tawdry this has become.
Call it for what it is. I suspect if you added up the gross of most of
nominated best films you would not get a week's worth of a computer animation
masquerading as something to be emulated or admired.
By the way, and pardon my snarky intent, we have had "" cultural moments "" in
cinema for African American's many time and far more germane and poignant.
Tony Curtis and Sidney Poitier chained together for 2 hours, Sidney Poitier as
detective and hero, ( In the Heat of the Night, Guess Who is Coming to Dinner
),The Butler, the myriad films about the human effects of pernicious
slavery....and on...Human films, films of reality and relatable experiences.
This is hardly a time we need more fantasy and less truer messages.
Hollywood makes the movies and we buy the tickets.

longer as relevant."" Women should not wait for men to give up power. Women
should take power. They should take power at the ballot box. They should take
power with their purses and their blogs. There are plenty of brilliant women
in this country, including you, and they need to wait for anyone.

Ich finde, das sollte jeder einmal lesen, damit man endlich einmal mit dem zufrieden ist, was man hat.

Allerdings würde ich mir an deiner Stelle Gedanken darüber machen, ob du das Buch nicht erst ab 18 freigeben solltest.

Klasse und nachvollziehbar geschrieben. Glückwunsch.
