YOUR LIFE NOT THEIRS

Recently, I have been having a lot of thoughts about life that sometimes I felt I have wasted some part of my life pleasing others and living a life expected of me by same people who might not even give a hoot about my well-being. But hey! I am not saying you should ostracize yourself from others or be the “Mr/Madam know it all” … NO! that is not exactly my point. Live a life that is worth emulating, not because you are told to do so, but because it is the right thing to do.

The quote by Steve Jobs kind off summarize most things I will be discussing in this book.

“Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drown your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs

First thing I would love to draw our attention to is the fact that we are time bound. Always have it at the back of your mind that death is inevitable. I was discussing with someone the other day- I said to her that the best thing that can happen to an individual is to be thankful, happy and hopeful for no one gets younger. A priest once said, every birthday brings us closer to our grave. This is absolutely correct. We have limited time and the earlier you started fulfilling your purpose here on earth, the better. Don’t waste your time living a life that is not yours.

This book is a must read for all as it will reveal a whole lot and also encourage us as we journey through life.
