Not sure. Originally, the whole thing was the first chapter, but then a lot of people said I should continue it. So I added the next three chapter, but now I'm wondering if there should be more. What do you think?

Well it works as a stand-alone, but I wouldn't mind finding out what becomes of Mel and Mel....

Okay, maybe I'll add a few more chapters. Oh, and thank you for your kind comment! I'm glad my sense of humor wasn't too bizarre, lol. You're always so supportive, Mary, and I appreciate that more than I can say. ')

Wow - thank you! I had a great deal of fun writing it, but didn't know if it was too goofy for others. That's very encouraging! I was going to make it longer, but wasn't sure - it seems to work okay as a short story. What do you think?

I'd think that you could make a series to the book if you wanted to. I loved the plot, the book itself kept me on my toes! I've read a few books of my own at a local library such as this one but none in particular was anywhere close as good as this one :)

I so get that! Two years ago, I was considering the purchase of a kitchen-sized backhoe to help haul my enlarged derriere off my computer chair so I could go do the dishes! On the bright side, I went on a diet and lost 112 pounds, which is why I can line-dance now without seismic consequences, lol!

And don't worry about my response to your writing - none of us here is the next great classic novelist (I wish), so it behooves us to be as helpful to one another as we can. Hmm. Behooves. I know the origin of that weird word, but it makes me think of someone shape-shifting into a horse. Yeah, I need more coffee...

OMG...OMG...OMG....YOU MUST HAVE READ MY MIND...LOL!!! I WAS JUST LOOKING AT THE SEARS WEB SITE FOR JUST THAT SAME BACKHOE THINGY...LMAO!!! (If only it was that easy)...LOL!!

I am working now on trimming the "overage' with a Dr.'s help so, hopefully it will succeed.

As for writing, I am hopefully going to "cringe"....face the fears AND DO IT. (I've actually started four times here writing, Ssshhhhhh don't tell anybody, got scared and deleted it all). Maybe the fifth time is the charm?!

But my worst unresolved challenge is, I promised my late mother, on her death bed....

"I promise You mom, I will write good stories."

But when she passed, my fire almost went out, it surrendered to the world and became just a smoldering ember.
I fortunately/unfortunately found and fell in love with someone. I thought I'd found the reason to fan the flame, that it once again re-ignited!!

But it was a cold wind that eventually blew, that in the end after an unexpected heart attack, then getting sicker and...well any way...then the dreaded divorce, then the darkness, depression an stuff set in.

I am just now after years of being an outcast (felt like). I found this site two weeks ago, so I just joined, and have been slowly re-emerging into the light.

Mom passed in '98, from the same thing I have (Diabetes), and weight loss can only be an asset, now. So I am working toward many goals, with hope and fears aplenty, but life goes on weather we like it or not...might as well make the best of it!!!
