I'm working part time at a kindergarten - it's a huge change, and although I love working with kids and am enjoying myself - it's not permanent - I applied for some post-grad studies in the fall. I used to work in South Korea teaching English, so it's kind of like moving backwards...
What's new with you? How's the book coming?

What made you decide to leave Bookrix and make this big change? I'm glad your enjoying it though! and I would love to see Korea! I started a new job a few months a go and its a massive promotion for me, so haven’t really had much time to write lately. But I've taken the book down for a massive rewrite. I've renamed characters, added characters, got rid of some, and changed a lot of the events. I’ve already written the final chapter though so it still ends the same. How about your writing?

She didn't leave. Bookrix cut down on the staff and Rebecca and Lineh were among them.

working with kids is great, they give you so much, tiring but rewarding.
our nurseries take kids 3yrs and 4 yrs- do German ones do the same or are they older? at three and four children are in a magical world where they do not see boundaries between things ; this is the best age for stories!
feel free to use The Merbaby , one of mine written for a wee one in our family. The Mouse Army and The Four Boys and the Invisible Friend, were both written for slightly older kids, say seven and eight and up.
it is fun asking what invisible friends they have. here the nursery has moved to more child directed play , lots of props, though still with puppets, stories , dressing up , though there are always the geeks in the corner with lego- invariably boys and the boys want to build.
if you didn't believe in the wee folk (fairies, leprechauns)you soon will unless German kids are unlike ours. for you have entered the magical zone.

for here everything is set for renewal and growth, the days are getting longer , the daffodils are flowering and the geese are getting ready to fly north to Iceland and Greenland.

Hi nice to hear from you. No it's not so bad, I am adapting; trying to get more stories into translation; Italian and Chinese and trying to finish the last of a trilogy. Our weather here has been so awful - persistent gales and rain . I definitely do not want to be reincarnated as a sheep ! Are you writing for yourself more now that you have left? Or have you had enough of the printed word. Try the quill pen and the parchment . I met someone who can't stand modernity and modern materials. Mobile phones give her a face rash. Electro sensitivity or something like that. I have snow drops on my lawn so does that mean it is spring ? here we have'nt had snow and frost - it maybe round the corner. Off to one of our remoter islands soon for a Burns night.

No - I wish! I'm going home to Ontario (around the Toronto area) for a visit with my family and one of my brothers is getting married. I haven't been home in a year and a half!

Ah ok. Pity though, since you're going to be there, but family comes first. Especially if someone is getting married. The couple needs to be the priority.

Also, flying to Vancouver is about 6 hours - so it's not really close by! Canada is too big! ;)

We travel from one side of the island to the other in an hour or less if there's no traffic :(. Ah well, there will be more writers fests around.

Your island could fit in Canada's little side pocket ;)
