Oscar Wilde's only novel The Picture of Dorian Gray is one of the books that everyone should read. It addresses more than one themes. Wilde reveals the tenderness of self-love and narcissism, which sometimes fails to find an object outside itself. I want to say that this book had a profound impact on me and I liked it, because the problem of narcissism is still exists in our world. I liked that this book's context is an actual one for nowadays and that many people can understand to what it can lead to. A lot of people care more about their look than about their internal world. The same thing we see in Dorian, he didn't care about his actions and about the person he turned into. Also, I want to say that Lord Henry also had his impact on Dorian and because of him he started to think differently, however, in my opinion if he had some other morals than Henry, then he would never have become that person. Thus, sometimes people play significant and fateful roles in our lives, nevertheless it doesn't mean that they become the cause of our misfortunes. Therefore, this book teaches us that wrong actions of individual can bring even more bad consequences and that in this case the individual should blame only himself and not surrounding.
