Thanks for the star and for reading my story.
England: the choice of country. In the days of Roman Britain the land had previously been visited by Egyptians who brought their magic and culture.So the setting was already ripe for the prayers of the witch to take hold. And her prayers were answered.
The Earth was 'scraped clean of everything because after the meteor impact all living beings died, all vegetable matter died and thick atomic dust settled everywhere. The end had to happen fast. And it did. England also had St George who would bring about a solution using a 'kidnapped' Roman and the guardian angel of that soldier. Hope ll this makes interesting reading.
For the contest it was intended to be short to make the reading easier on screen.
I've no idea what ten stories were selected. It doesn't matter . But many thanks for reading my story.

Great idea, Cleveland! We read all kinds of stories about the destruction of the earth and making a new start in stark naked universes, and here you give us a fresh start.

I have the same question as someone else on this page: why England? Did the rest of the world die? That wasn't very clear and needs clarification. My only other comment is that the subject matter deserves a little more room to grow.

Great idea. Keep at it.

Usually after I've read a story, it doesn't take me long to write a comment. However with this one...I sat for a good 5-8 minutes to see what kind of reply I would jot down.
First...there were many questions...Who was this Warior? (I found out only through your long explanation, that he was cloned by aliens). Why a samurai? How come they were united to save (only) England? And the introduction of St. Georges and God into the short story. My, what imagination.
A new Adam and Eve ...with a child at that...wow!
Then at the end (or new begining) what happened to that twosome?
I voted because of originality and fine penmanship.
Your story, as mine is pure fantasy...and that IS good.
